Extremely gummy, could not tell by the flavor that it was supposed to be chocolate.

I wish I had read the reviews before buying this item. I bought it because of the exotic name "Devil's Food Cake", and it really turned out to be cake for the devil. I had to add more ingredients and coloring to make the mix tasteful and attractive. Will definitely not buy it again.

This devils food cake is good. It bakes up real nice, it gets a nice rise. It is real easy to make a cake with.

PLEASE. Do not order this product. It is so awful I don't even know where to begin. The mix itself is gray, not brown, and smells bad, nothing at all like chocolate. It doesn't rise and it's mushy no matter how long you cook it. I am a professional baker and a culinary school graduate. I've never seen anything so bad in my life. i should have listened to the other reviews. Unfortunately I missed the window of time where I could return the product, however when I contacted customer support they told me they don't offer returns on this item at all so it looks like there was never hope for getting my money back from ordering this product. Same goes for the other flavors. JUST DON'T ORDER IT.

Just got this last night, and i have to say that it is a very easy to use mixture and tastes wonderful ! My daughter and I did add some extra chocolate to it, but not much, and it was excellent. Not dry, not to dense, and cooked pretty quickly ! We made a bundt cake actually at first, and again it was fantastic ! I would recommend this to anyone !

The Devil's food cake is super rich and makes a great chocolate lovers cupcake. The mix is great and makes light, fluffy cupcakes for our sweets shop.

This devil's food cake mix is dry, tasteless and flat. Would not recommend to anyone. Tried adding other ingredients to this mix as well and nothing helped it.

I love webstaurant and most of my purchases have been great. But 5his cake mixes need to be removed from the site . They are horrible. Not fixing can be done . Is just gross. I have to throw them away. Waste of money

This is definitely a good base product for cakes muffins and even brownies but to be used as a cake mix by itself it isn't as good but overall it's a good product for the price

Was not pleased with this mix. It tended to be dry. It cut fine. A little crumbly. We added egg and butter to bring it up to our satisfaction so we could use it in our restaurant.

Our youth are doing about 15-20 bake sales this year to raise money for various activities and so we wanted to try these cake mixes. We started small, with 5 lbs, to see if we liked the mix. We made 4 cakes to start: one with water (like directions indicated), one with 1/3 c. oil, one with 1/3 c. oil and 2 eggs, and then we made a cheap store brand cake. The store brand lost hands down. The other three cakes from the mix tasted very much the same, but 3 of the youth and one leader both liked the cake with the oil in it the best. We used the oil when we made the cakes and we will continue to purchase mixes like this! Thank you!

I absolutely love the devils food cake mix. I use whole milk instead of water. It makes a great product with good crumb and moisture.

The only thing I don't like about this mix is that you do have to add to it to make it work - egg, or buttermilk, any sort of leavening product to give it a bit more fluffiness. But it does have a nice cocoa flavor.

This is a decent 5 pound devil's food chocolate cake mix I definitely recommend adding some other things to it to make it taste a little better

This is a lovely, light chocolate cake mix. I use it for plain chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream or seven minute frosting, or german chocolate coconut-pecan frosting. This mix makes a delicious start to a number of great chocolate desserts.

I was not a fan of the flavor but then again, I only tried the 'just add water' version and I know a lot of people add other ingredients to improve the taste and texture. I just didn't have the kind of time or money to commit to half a dzn trials.

This was the only product I would have a complain on this website. The cake is horrible. And very sweet. My clients didn't like their cake so bad that they saved a piece so I can try it and I didn't like it either. I read now the other reviews and almost everybody says there's something missing. It should be in the instructions.

Not what I expected. I thought this would be normal baking mix(like box mix) this is just add water mix, not impressed with the turn out of the cupcakes, customers were not happy with the product either.

Great size and excellent packaging. This made my baking experience an easy one. I don't usually use "store bought" mixes but was in a pinch with a huge order for a banquet and they weren't specific about details so I figured why not. 1 lb to 8 oz of water made for quick mixing while using a standard kitchen scale. The cupcakes were a huge hit (both mini and regular size) and tasted fantastic too!

This cake is good. can be a little dry if you're short on liquid. i use a little oil or apple sauce with the water for more moisture. Cant beat the ease of this mix.

This mix is not bad. But, it takes some work and extra effort to get it that way. Most of the time, I bake everything from scratch. However, I was looking for a fast mix to use for cake pops since the texture of the cake is usually not that important. I found you will get the best results with this mix if you do the following: 1: Make sure you use a kitchen scale to measure it by the pound. The weight printed on the bag is not always accurate. 2: Once the product is measured out, SIFT IT! An ok Devil's food cake mix. My only problem was I had to add oil and eggs to the mix to get it to turn out not heavy and dry. But it tastes great.

I have been searching around for a good bulk cake mix. This devil's food chocolate mix was very moist, tender, and the perfect amount of density without any doctoring.
