Splurged and bought this for personal use, but it is definitely a commercial device (not flimsy in the least). Looked at other brands, but this one kept showing up in reviews with very positive comments. Was well packaged, the instructions were clear, and it's simple and even has instructions on the outside panel. It has an adjustment for shave thickness and on/off switch. We did purchase a foot pedal to keep from having to operate the switch all the time. One thing I really like is it's fairly easy to disassemble when needed for cleaning. But what I really liked is the drain for the hopper down to the tray. When the ice melts, all the water from the ice goes down into the tray, so clean-up is a breeze.
