I have purchased 8 of these waffle irons over the past 2 and half years. The construction and workings of the waffle iron are amazing when compared to others waffle irons in speed of production, ease of use and power consumption, it is by far a superior product in those regards. My 5-star rating is based upon those facts Now durability, ease of maintaining the waffle iron and cleaning it, I would rate this at a negative 10. The reason I have had to purchase 8 of these in the past 2 and a half years is that the Teflon coating wears out very quickly, even when cleaned quite extensively multiple times a day. Believe me, I have experimented in every way as how to clean and maintain theses irons and nothing makes a difference. I have talked to warring multiple times trying to figure out a solution but Read More

I t is a nice waffle maker, it cooks fast. The down side is, it is very hard to clean. Butter or oil builds up and waffle batter sticks to surface. Manufacture only recomends to clean with damp towel, but that does not help at all for cleaning. Last six months I ordered two of the waffle makers, and now I have to order new one. Thinking to switch to another brand.

Thanks for your review! Cleaning after every baking session is essential. After letting the waffle maker cool, soak up excess oil with a dry cloth or paper towel before using a damp cloth to clean the grids. Consistent care should help to prevent oil and batter from building up.

It was purchased for use in the cafe we opened in January. We use it once a week for waffle Wednesdays, and today, it died. The volume is 40-50 waffles a WEEK. On top of being difficult to clean, it's just a waste of money.

Probably the worst waffle maker I have had. One side doesn't even cook - I have had one too many waffles come back because they were not cooked. It now has started where only a portion of the actual cooked side is browning.

This waffle maker is easy to use and the waffles come out great although much thinner that traditional Belgian waffles. however it is not exactly non stick. You have to spray it with oil in between each batch. As others mentioned, the waffle grids do no detach which makes clean up very difficult.

The Waring WWD200 Double Waffle Maker is great for making waffles! It heats and cooks pretty fast! The green lights let you know when it's ready to cook and when it's cooked!

I use this for Liège waffles and it works perfectly well - melts the sugar on the inside and crisps the waffles on the outside. If you're making Liège waffles, clean-up is rather messy due to the now caramelized sugar. I use a damp cloth to loosen the sugar bits for cleaning.

This is an excellent machine. After researching and reading all of the reviews, we decided on this Waffle Baker and are sooo glad we did! Webstaurant had THE lowest price and the responses to customer complaints really helped us to avoid the same mistakes. Remember to heat before seasoning, and use bacon drippings for D'licious crispy waffles. I think we'll be ordering another one real soon. Waffles are flying out the door. M.Sapp
