We purchased 2 of these thermometers beings it was the brand we had previously used and had good luck with. Within 2 weeks both of them say "lo" even after replacing batteries and will not work. We thought it was just a fluke until the 2nd one started acting up right away as well.

I visited the webstaurantstore site today to see if anyone else has had trouble with this thermometer. After about a year of use, it reads "Lo" which is a prompt to calibrate. I tried calibrating, and even tried installing a new battery, but every time I try to calibrate it, the reading remains "Lo". Based on other reviews, I realize it's nothing I'm doing wrong. Sounds like this just happens sometimes to this unit. We have two in our food rescue kitchen, and we find this to be very easy to use, clean, and store. I hope the manufacturer can figure out the glitch. I would buy again if they can resolve this glitch. Thanks!

I have purchased several of these - it’s nice that it is water proof - good to check temp of items in the warmer or the grill

Very nicely made thermometer, stands up to a lot of abuse in the kitchen. These do have a sensor malfunction from time to time that requires them to be replaced but for the cost it's worth it.

Thermometer buttons became increasingly unresponsive after 5-6 months of lite holding temp usage, followed by loss of calibration, which was a permanent issue due to the button failure preventing re-calibration.

This is a great little gadget and is very accurate. I like it because the probe is not to big for my steaks and is long enough to reach the center of my roast. Another great buy.

I really love this thermometer. It works well and fairly quickly. I love the backlight, the snap-on probe cover and the fact that it is dishwasher safe.

This is the best thermometer I have ever owned! Takes about 3 seconds to get an accurate temperature reading. I've gently hand washed it without incident. One odd thing about it. It automatically turns off after a few minutes but if you want to turn it off earlier you have to hold down the button which in turn turns on the backlight. I was worried that always turning on the back light would drain the battery but I've had it for 2 years and haven't needed to change the battery yet. But besides that little quirk I'm extremely happy with this little thing.

The best thermometer out there. Its easy to read. The battery is very long lasting and the device is extremely accurate. We have never had a problem with them and we have them in all parts of the restaurant for staff to use.

Have had this quite a while and it's still my go thermometer. It's quick and easy to use with accurate readings. Very easy to clean right up. Wouldn't hesitate to buy again when a new one is needed.

I always carry one of these thermometers with me. I have been in this industry for over 10 years and have only managed to break one of these thermometers. They're fantastically durable and waterproof, having survived being washed with my apron or chef coat on multiple occasions, have a thin probe tip for minimal marking on food items, and are always accurate to boot! I can't recommend these pocket thermometers enough!

I was very happy with this thermometer for a few weeks, but now it only displays "LO". I thought it meant low battery and bought new ones, but still just "LO", so I guess it's just broken. Maybe this one was just a dud—it otherwise seemed quite good while it worked.

We bought several of these for our Pastry Arts program and they have performed very well. They are easy to read, fairly fast to get results and easy to keep clean.

We have three thermometers like this. Other than replacing the battery they have had no problems whatsoever. Of course Taylor is a great brand for thermometers too.

The Taylor 2 3/4" Waterproof Digital Probe Thermometer is rather large and has a large screen. It is easy to use and highly accurate in reading temperatures.

Great Taylor slender waterproof probe thermometer we've tried on steaks and it worked well. The reading is easy to see and the buttons are easy to figure out, though sometimes hard to press. The fact that you can dishwash it afterwards makes it very helpful!

I love this thermometer! The functionality is great; and the large buttons allow me to easily use. Quick transition between F & C is also an added bonus.

I thermometer has worked well and does a great job at check-in times of food items. I would recommend using this as well as in the kitchen .

I purchased this thermometer for the sake of brewing beer. It is easily ice-point-calibrated. Brewing requires critical temperature control, such as mash temperature and hop isomerization temperatures, and I haven't any hesitation with this product.

Good response time, and the backlight is helpful. The screen viewing angle isn't great, so taking off a star - the digits will disappear viewing it from certain angles. My first failed after washing (it was not fully waterproof), but Webstaurantstore customer service was really proactive, and sent a replacement in a timely fashion at no charge.
