I love the shape of the saucier, it's wider and shallower, making it easier for whisking sauces. The multi layer bottom is great for heat retention. My only negative is the handle gets hot.

One of the cooking shows (probably Alton Brown) got me to thinking that I was missing something by not having a saucier or two. These are nicely-made, nice-looking, sturdy, heavy pans with flat rims and nice lids. The thick clad bottoms heat evenly, shallow sides for whisking. They were selling at a good price so I made an order. I haven't really used it enough to decide if I need this as much as a pro might, or maybe I just need to start upping my sauce game(!). Nice pans, tho....
