Reviews for Ghirardelli 25 lb. Sweet Ground Dark Chocolate & Cocoa Powder

I own a small bakery, and one of my most popular cookies is the Tuxedo (dark chocolate white chip cookie). We sell out every week, and for good reason. I’ve been using the Hershey’s Special Dark cacao powder, but cannot source it in bulk, which for time and cost purposes, is rather important. I ended up on Webstaurant looking for baking spices for my holiday cookies, and started to browse, as one does, and found this 25 lb. answer to my problems! Ghirardelli is a well know and respected brand, so after crunching the numbers, and realizing I could be saving upwards of $70 by switching and buying in bulk, it was a no-brainer! That being said - this chocolate/cocoa powder did not work for what we intended (see video) but we were able to use it to make those popular hot cocoa bombs and EVERYONE loved them!

We used to use Ghiradelli Frozen Hot Cocoa until we stumbled on this product. We switched for several reasons. One, the price. The bulk 25# box allows us to use a quality product and make a few more cents per sale. It's good for business. Second, The dark chocolate is a little less sweet than the FHC, and the bitter decadent finish makes our coffee drinks superior and unique to the area. The dosing is the same, and we get more for the money. Win!

A great substitute for dark chocolate chips. The powder is smooth and blends in well. provides a great rich dark chocolate flavor to any mix, cocoa or dessert.

I have ordered at least 3 times. The shipping box contains 6 - 3lb cans. All three times the shipping box has been damaged in shipping, with at least 2 (last time 5) of the cans being dented. Chocolate powder was prevalent throughout the inner surface of the shipping box. Very disappointing!!!
