These fryers have been an absolute disaster! We purchased 2 and within 2 months of being put into service, both have required repairs. The warranty claim process has been extremely cumbersome, going through a national collective to approve claims, who in turn farms the claims out to local repair companies. For the first fryer this was a 2 week process before (after 3 trips) the repair was made. Now the 2nd fryer is not operating correctly, we are waiting on the warranty claim repair to be scheduled, and the 1st fryer went down again! Hard to run a restaurant with zero fryers when you plan on having 2. My strong recommendation is to skip these fryers and spend a little more money for a product more reliable and a company that's more responsive to customer needs. Likewise, shame on Webstaurantstore for stocking and promoting such a substandard product.

I am writing this review as I'm holding down the pilot button praying that I will be able to get this fryer lit before my service starts. I have 2 of these and one of them leaks and the other 1 will not light the pilot without investing a bunch of time in the morning to do it. When I contacted webstaurant about how to alleviate these issues they told me to contact the manufacturer. When I did I was sent down a rabbit hole of blame games where people just gave me different numbers to call. No real solution was offered and everyday I am having to fight this fryer to get it to light spending my precious time trying to make this work. I am growing so frustrated with Webstaurant and their products. At this point I have been trying to get this pilot lit for 20 minutes. Don't buy this unit. It's a nightmare.

We purchased this seven months ago. The unit works as advertised. We make fresh cut French fries that are 3/8" cut. They take approximately five minutes to cook. We also make our own hand-breaded chicken fried steak. They take approximately four minutes to cook. I feel this is an excellent fryer for the price. Don't waste your money on Avantco Fryers. Bought 3 in July 2019 had to have their service company come out because flames would hit you in the face when you turned them on. Their service company said everything was fine. I had to have my service company come out and adjust them. Then I have had to spend more money then I spent to buy them to keep them working. I found It was cheaper the replace then fix. I bought another one in Feb 2021. Now the pilot won't stay lit. Call warrantee and they said they would not fix it until I paid the bill from the first 3. I refuse to pay a bill when they came out said everything was fine but yet my staff was terrified to light the fryers until my service company fixed them. So now once again my service guy will fix and I will pay for an item that should have been under warrantee. SAVE MONEY BY BUYING A BETTER BRAND!!!!!!!!

Great fryer. This is perfect for getting the most bang for your buck. It doesn't take up a ton of room, but can still do a ton of work.

Bought this fryer back in April and I have no complaints. This fryer keeps up with the high demand we put on it. I clean and change the oil every one to two weeks. Heats up fast, easy to hook up. If business keeps going the way it is I will definitely be getting another one.

This fryer it the perfect size for my food truck. It heats up very quickly and the thermostat is easy to access. I also is easy to drain.

My experience with Webstaurant equipment overall has been hit or miss. So, I wasn't;t surprised when this fryer didn't work upon having it connected. I hoped that there was something wrong with my gas line but nope, the equipment was just defective. I had an issue with a different piece of equipment earlier in the year so I didn't feel like going through additional hoops to get this equipment issue resolved. So, I just decided to use the old fryer. Well, it has now malfunctioned and I need to get this issue rectified ASAP. Just got a text from the AI customer service rep...here is the reply: "Thank you for your patience, Carlos! I was able to pull up your order! I apologize your fryer isn't working properly. Please call the number provided for warranty service. Please have your unit's serial number and invoice number to schedule a service call." I hope I don't have to deal with the same issue others have dealt with in getting these units fixed!

we purchased 2 of these fryers and after a few months of use they are great, easy to use and very easy to clean they look new after every cleaning, worth every dollar.

Nice little fryer than can run all day. We use this primarily for french fries only and nonstop all day. We do have to dump the oil each night due to the volume we go through.

This stainless steal fryer works wonderfully in our kitchen. We are able to make delicious French fried and onion rings that all of our customers seem to enjoy!

This Avantco fryer is easy to clean, lights up quickly, heats up quickly, and it's fairly inexpensive compared to other 50 lb fryers. I highly recommend.

We got these today and setup was pretty fair. We havent fired them up yet however I am liking the look and it was pretty easy to get these 3 setup. Hope they live up to the good reviews.

purchased this for my kitchen last year. have had no issues with it to date. the 50 lb capacity is perfect for continuous use and its fairly easy to clean. cant really find any faults with this product. gets the job done. worth spending a little extra for avantco over some of the cheaper options

Best deal out there. Easy to hook up and baskets were included. Easier to clean than the royal fryer I have, same BTUS but has faster recovery time.

Avantco makes the best fryers in the business, can't beat the price either, i was hesitant at first but my repairman highly recommended them, these were a great purchase.

We purchased (3) Avantco FF400 Fryers for our new restaurant and am pleased with the product construction. Avancto offers a cheaper price point than some of the other manufacturers with comparable quality.

The Avantco FF400 finally stopped working on March 28, 2020, 9 days after purchasing from webstaurant. Manufacturer would not warranty it and it just wasn't worth the hourly service charge and price for parts to repair it. We always had the keep the pilot lit and was told by the manufacturer that leaving it lit overnight was "normal". Whenever the pilot would go out, it would take multiple times of holding down the knob and waiting 5, 10 or 15+ minutes or more to get it to stay on. It was hell from the beginning and we had numerous service calls to try and get it fixed. Out of 3 service calls, they replaced two parts and it still didn't solve the pilot issue. It's a basic fryer, no bells and whistles, but it has given us no trouble in the several years we've been using it in our homeless shelter. Good unit for the money.

I have been running this fryer for about 1 and a half years. Yes I did have a pilot issue but I can imagine this is due to being burned continuously for a year straight (pilot is on even when machine is off) I was able to call the tech that was assigned to the warranty claim. I was able to meet him for the part and install it two wires. Super simple fix. Lesson learned have the 750? temperature Resistance Millivolt Replacement Thermopile ready on hand. $ Part worth every penny to have on hand to avoid a day waiting on a tech. That was the only issue I have had with this fryer.

Good reliable fryer. Cheaper than getting a used one locally. Plus the option for entended warranty is a blessing.

Works well for the price. This fryer was my 2nd unit for the location however within 10 months it stopped working (Pilot Failed). Warranty of these equipment is pathetic. you have to call some authorized dealer who will mention of credit card hold and pay if things are not covered in warranty. worst part, service Technical is not available immediately and takes a couple of days to come and NO WEEKEND support. Does its job of frying. I would not recommend if you have a lot of customers. I would recommend a different brand for high volume.

Unit arrived in less than 48 hours. Driver brought it all the way into my store (all though I believe he went above and beyond what was required of him) Installed in 5 minutes, and looking good. It heats up in less time that the old pitco that it replaced, seen here with her surviving twin (ad me’ah v’’Esrim). So far very happy. Hint: half the bolts/nuts for the feeet come in a bag, and half already attached.

We are a lower volume restaurant and the only fried items we have are fries and sweet potato fries. So this is perfect for us. It’s small so if we add to the fried menu, we’ll have to get another one.
