Nu-Calgon 420708 Details

Scale deposits can wreak havoc on your ice machine, plugging distribution holes, restricting water flow, and eventually causing jams or shut-downs, so use this Nu-Calgon 4207-08 liquid ice machine cleaner to keep it running at peak efficiency! As your machine goes through the process of making ice, dissolved minerals will be precipitated out as scale deposits, which must be removed regularly to maintain peak efficiency. This cleaner uses a 75% food-grade fast-acting phosphoric acid solution to dissolve away scale buildup so that your machine can work the way it was intended to, and it won't give off any harsh fumes in the process. This product is not just made for traditional ice machines, but also works on coffee urns, vending equipment, humidifiers, potable water heaters, and other machines susceptible to scale deposits.

Application is a simple process, simply dilute to a rate of 8 fluid ounces per 3 gallons of water, and allow it to circulate for about 30 minutes. Use a brush to apply the cleaner on any scaled surfaces that do not contact it during this process. Another round of cleaning may be necessary if the machine has especially heavy deposits. Ice machine drums can be cleaned by mixing 1 cup of cleaner with 2 quarts of water and brushing the scaled surfaces. After the scale is removed, drain out all water and flush thoroughly with fresh water, discarding the first batch of ice made. This product should not be used on machines with nickel-plated or galvanized surfaces, which require a nickel-safe cleaner.
