Since I did pay $ for shipping, I expected something more professional. For example, a standard mailing tube might have protected this long, narrow shelving rod. But, instead someone seemed to tape together parts of several thin cardboard boxes, to create a long, wide, and flat package. Unfortunately, this box may have been stepped on, or perhaps un over by a forklift. Not clear what caused the damage. The shelving rod has a considerable bend, near the middle, rendering it useless for my purposes.
