I purchased this after I had previously purchased the 18 oz shaker thinking it would fit my other 28 oz shakers. It did not so this is a definite needed purchase if you are going to buy the smaller shaker as this is the only one that will fit it. Even then the smaller shaker does not seat as deeply as my other shaker combos do. Solid construction though so as long as you are pairing it with the smaller one of the same brand you should be satified.
