We use it as a general hardness tester and it works well. You get plenty of paper and since it's on a roll, it's far more affordable than individual test strips. The narrow scale is 0-20 with 5gpg increments, and the wide scale has 10gpg increments. If you're trying to dial-in a filtration setup for to hit a target hardness, you may want a digital tester, but for general kitchen jobs, this is perfect.

I use this to make sure my dishwasher works properly. If you have a Miele or other European dishwasher, you may not realize you can program it to the water hardness in your house/business. Once I figured out how to translate the units from this test kit to the units on my dishwasher, it was easy to use and I've programmed it properly. It tells me when I need dishwasher salt.

This Test Kit is great!!. Several months ago, I was looking for a water hardness test equipment for my kitchen lab. We were installing some filters and wanted to know if they were working properly.
