Other customers seem to not have done the appropriate research - the polypropylene is appropriate for HOT items, while the PET is NOT appropriate for hot items and should only be used for cold items. We love using this. HOWEVER, this item is very rarely in stock and it is pointless to be selling the bowls while the lid has not been available for the past 3+ weeks.
