Details

Teff has been a central part of Ethiopian cuisine for centuries: not only is this tiny grain easy to cultivate, but it's packed with nutritional benefits and full of deliciously satisfying flavor. Bob's Red Mill makes it easy to harness the benefits of this ancient grain with their whole grain gluten-free teff flour! They grind teff grains (each about the size of a poppy seed) into a flour that is more nutrient-dense than virtually any other. Because teff has a higher percentage of bran and germ than other grains, teff flour is high in dietary fiber, protein, iron, and amino acids. It also contains more calcium per serving than any other grain! Plus, teff is naturally gluten-free, and this flour is produced in Bob's Red Mill's gluten-free facility, meaning that this flour is suitable for those with celiac disease, gluten sensitivities, and wheat allergies. This Bob's Red Mill teff flour is a wholesome ingredient that you can feel good about serving to all of your customers!

In Ethiopian cuisine, teff flour is eaten daily in the form of Injera, a fermented flatbread that's used in place of utensils to scoop up foods. To make your own Injera, mix teff flour with water and allow the mixture to ferment for 1 to 3 days before cooking this crepe-like bread! Aside from traditional Ethiopian recipes, teff flour can be incorporated into recipes for a myriad of baked goods. It's especially useful in gluten-free baking, where it adds a pleasant texture and a delectably nutty, earthy, toasted flavor to the final product. Try incorporating teff flour into the dough of your breads, pie crusts, cookies, and baked desserts! This remarkable flour is sure to make a splash in your kitchen and this 25 lb. bag will ensure that you'll be in good supply for all of your culinary needs.

A leading brand in health foods, Bob's Red Mill is dedicated to providing the best products using the Old World technique of traditional stone milling. This technique allows for the inherent nutrients and flavor of their grains to be preserved, thus providing wholesome, quality foods to your kitchen. Plus, they have a separate 100% gluten-free facility where they process, package, and test all of their gluten-free products, so you can always be sure you are serving your customers with allergies a safe-to-eat product. Offer delicious and equally nutritious foods in your establishment with the help of Bob's Red Mill.

We use it to make Injera bread, which can't be made any other way, but I hear great things about Teff flour for GF baking, too!! If you're buying Teff flour from a specialty supplier, just grab a Plus membership and some of this stuff and save on shipping!
