Foggy Effect

Your shipment will include 35 lb. of dry ice in approximately 4 lb. blocks, depending on sublimation times. Dry ice sublimates, meaning it goes directly from a solid state to a gas state, skipping the liquid state and causing a fog effect. Be sure to store it in an insulated container or a non-operational refrigerator or freezer when not in use to help delay sublimation.

Take care to ensure that your customers do not ingest any pieces of dry ice as it can cause serious injury if swallowed. Dry ice should be handled with caution in a well-ventilated area. Always wear protective gloves and eyewear when handling this product.

How quickly does dry ice sublimate?

As a general rule, dry ice sublimates at a rate of 5 to 10 pounds every 24 hours in a typical ice chest.

I do not live on the East Coast of the United States. Can I still purchase this product?

Is this dry ice certified as food-safe?

This product is not certified as food-safe. If the dry ice is directly touched or consumed (see "Dry Ice Safety Guide" under Resources), adverse health effects may occur.

Where should I store my dry ice?

Dry ice is excellent for emergency refrigeration, but due to its extremely low temperature, it should not be stored in an operational refrigerator or freezer as it can cause damage to the equipment. It’s recommended to store dry ice in a non-operational refrigerator or freezer or to keep it in another insulated container.
