This cooling paddle is a great way to rapidly cool soups and other foods that can't go into a blast chiller and is specifically designed to fit perfectly in hotel style pans. Its smooth exterior makes it easy to remove foods to reduce waste, while also ensuring the paddle is easy to clean and sanitize. For best results, do not use in temperatures greater than 195 degrees Fahrenheit or less than -20 degrees Fahrenheit. When filling with ice and water it is recommend to fill the unit entirely (past max fill) with ice, then add cold water to fill in the voids around the ice cubes.

How to Use

Easily fill the wide mouth with water and freeze on its side, then place in your piping hot foods while stirring for 3-5 minutes to rapidly bring them out of the temperature danger zone. Refrigerate your foods with the paddle inside and check the temperature every 20 minutes with a thermometer. Once cooled to 41 degrees Fahrenheit, remove the paddle and store your foods until ready for service. To avoid spills and messes, you can use a food safe plastic bag with this paddle while storing it or chilling it in the fridge.

Convenient Freezing Solution

The mouth on this paddle is large enough to fill with ice cubes so you have an easy cooling solution even if you forget to fill and freeze the paddle overnight. For rapid cooling, simply fill the product with ice above the max fill line, and fill with water to the max fill line. Made with commercial grade material, this paddle can withstand temperatures up to 195 degrees Fahrenheit. The feet on the bottom cause it to sit just off the bottom of the pan, so that all sides are helping to rapidly cool. You can fit two paddles in a full size hotel pan for rapid cooling and one in a half size food pan.

How should I store my cooling paddle while freezing?

Store your cooling paddle on its side to allow more room for the water to expand while freezing. By allowing more room in the paddle for the water to freeze in the neck and body of the paddle, warping and cracking is prevented.

Why is my cooling paddle cracking?

Cooling paddles will eventually break over time due to nature of rapid heating and cooling, but to extend the life, do not pour past the max fill line or exceed temperature recommendations.
