The perfect addition to any chef's set, this knife features a large square 16 degree blade edge. The size of the blade lends itself well to chopping large vegetables such as cabbage, yet it is versatile enough to chop and slice meat if need be. The flat of the blade is also perfect for crushing and smashing foods such as a garlic cloves. The blade is also conveniently double-beveled and flat ground to a 16 degree angle on each side to provide the best performance possible from every blade.

Crafted from proprietary VG-MAX 68-layer Damascus steel, this knife's blade is built to provide you with the ability to create smooth, accurate cuts. This proprietary material, only available from Shun, is extremely fine-grained to get the most out of the steel, and its excellent construction also ensures a sharp, long-lasting blade in any kitchen environment. Resistant to corrosion and wear, this knife is also constructed with a full composite tang for superior balance. Plus, the Pakkawood handle provides a comfortable, secure grip for both left- and right-handed use. It is also extremely durable, and it won't crack or separate from the blade, thus extending the life of your knife.
