I haven’t heard of R-290, R-600a, R-513a, or R-448A refrigerant before. What is it?

R-290 (also known as high purity propane or CARE 40) and R-600a (also known as refrigerant grade Isobutane or CARE 10) are hydrocarbon refrigerants. R513a (also known as Opteon XP10) and R-448A (also known as Solstice N40) are HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerants. They are being used by some manufacturers in response to the EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program.

Delfield N8240-STP Details

Keep your popular cold items perfectly chilled and ready for customers with this Delfield N8240-STP drop-in self-contained frost top! At 40", this frost top holds two full-size sheet pan full of eye-catching products to help increase impulse sales. The frost top is made of one-piece, heavy-gauge stainless steel and includes a drain trough to aid with condensation on the recessed top area.

Its 1/5 hp condensing unit is suspended below the frost top on a heavy-gauge steel frame, and is designed to be used as a drop-in to tables or countertops to help save space. Plus, operation is made easy thanks to the simple on/off switch. A stainless steel louver is also included for field installation.

This unit uses eco-friendly R290 refrigerant. This specialized refrigerant has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of 0 and a global warming potential (GWP) of 3, making it an environmentally-responsible choice for your business. The unit also has polyurethane foam insulation for excellent temperature retention. It requires a 38 11/16" x 28 3/4" countertop cutout and a 115V electrical connection.
