3-Speed, Gear-Driven Transmission

This mixer's powerful 2 hp, 1 phase motor, and 3-speed gear-driven transmission will get the job done without the risk of drive system slip that can happen with belt driven models. It offers easy shifting with consistent mixing speeds regardless of the thickness of the product in the bowl. The dough hook is best suited for a low RPM of 130, the flat beater for a medium RPM of 204, and the wire whisk for a high RPM of 596. Additionally, its automatic safety overload switch will cut the power in the event of overdraw to protect your unit from damage.

40 Qt. Bowl

A 40 qt. bowl makes the MX40 perfect for mixing batches of your best-selling foods! Plus, the bowl is made of type 304 stainless steel for longer-lasting durability over some other models.

Wire Bowl Guard

A wire guard prevents fingers and objects from becoming caught in the mixer while it is in use, maximizing safety.

Lever Bowl Lift

A simple lever-style lift makes it easy to move the bowl as needed, with minimal strain on the operator. Lower the bowl to load and unload batches of dough or batter, or to change attachments. Raise the bowl to lock it into place and begin mixing!

Can I use this standard-duty mixer to make pizza dough?

This standard-duty mixer can be used to make the occasional small batch of pizza dough, however, it should function on low speed to prevent burning out the motor. For larger, more frequent batches of pizza dough, check out our selection of spiral dough mixers!

Does the hp (horsepower) rating of this mixer reflect the output to the mixer bowl?

Our motor hp reference is meant to indicate the horsepower rating of the motor itself and not the mixer's horsepower output to the mixer bowl.

The leaking is caused by grease breaking down inside the gear box. The grease can be replaced in the gear box to fix this issue. It’s recommended this is done by a qualified service technician.
