Vollrath Redco Can Openers

Vollrath Redco Can Openers

Welcome to Vollrath University. I’m Chef Rich, and we’re here today to talk to you about the Redco line of easy clean can openers. These can openers really are the best can opener line in the world. We start with three different models or configurations, if you will. Our first model here is the medium duty. We identify the medium duty line by this yellow top band. With this we have a 1” gear. Now the 1” gear means you’re just going to have to go around maybe a few more times to open a can. So we recommend this line up to about 20 cans a day. We do offer it in two heights: a 14” height and a 22” can height for this medium duty line. The next line up would be our heavy duty line- same features as this line, except we have a 1 1/2” gear which means a few less times you have to go around to open each can. That unit we recommend up to about 60 cans a day. Again, we offer it in the two can heights of 14” and 22”. Finally, we offer our Titan; this is the heavy duty. This is if you’re going to do over 60 cans a day. It has the 1 1/2” gear, and also its full, seamless construction can go right through a dishwasher. Now some of the things that make this the best can opener line in the world: I’d say one of the main features that we have on this line is the easy blade removal system. Okay, with this system we can easily remove the blade for cleaning. This is one of the hardest areas to keep clean in a restaurant. So to clean this area, very simply, we’re going to pull back on the handle, it releases the blade mechanism, and it simply pops out. How much easier could it get? Now we’ve got two thumb screws to simply unscrew and replace the blade. Blades are coated with an anti-microbial to help keep bacteria growth down between cleanings. So then to reassemble, simply take the unit back on the handle again, tuck it underneath and away we go. Very easy to clean. Also, the other nice thing about this line is that it can be mounted a couple different ways. First, we do offer the permanent mounting where you take this bracket and simply screw it down to the counter or we also offer this portable bracket which allows this unit to be moved anywhere you’d like in your kitchen. Great line of can openers. Let’s get started here and show you how these work. Okay, so raise up the bar, place the can in, quickly and forcefully push it down into the can, go around the top and open the can. Very simply, we’re finished. How easy was that? Easy to open cans, easy to clean. The Redco line of easy clean can openers really are the best line of can openers in the world. Customer questions about this product

What's the difference between a #1 can opener and a #2 can opener?
Both #1 and #2 can openers can open the same types of cans, and operate in a similar manner. A #2 can opener is a bit smaller, with a shorter handle that may require more turns to open the same can. A #1 can opener is larger and features a more heavy-duty construction. As a result, it's capable of opening more cans per day.
