Nemco Easy Lettuce Cutter

Nemco Easy Lettuce Cutter

If you serve salads, you know the labor involved in shredding your own lettuce, not to mention all the browning. You can buy your lettuce pre-cut, but that gets expensive, and it gets trucked in from all over the place. Hi, I'm Steve Ziegler, product expert at the WEBstaurant Store. We have the answer for you right here. It's called the Nemco Easy Lettuce Cutter. Not only will this save you money on product and labor, but the super sharp blades on this will actually prevent browning. What's more, if you like to use your local produce, or you like to make your own custom mixes, the Nemco Easy Cutter allows you to do that with a lot less labor. Here's how the Nemco Easy Lettuce Cutter works. First thing I want to show you is this handy feature here. It comes with this pin and you’re able to put the pin, and insert it right up there. This will lock the unit down for safety. This is great for when you need to move the machine around. Right now, I'm just going to take this and since I'm going to be using it, I'm just going to tuck it right in the handle there to keep it out of the way. Now, to cut a head of lettuce, first thing I'm going to do is just cut the steam off this head of lettuce. This is a rather large head, and I'm a little worried it won't fit on the blade-set so I'm just going to slice it in half, and I'm going to put it right up there. I'm going to let the pusher block rest on top of the head of lettuce. I'm going to give it a firm motion, and we're going to push this down to see how it works, and see if it's really easy. There you go. You can see, perfectly cut lettuce. Now let's finish up this head of lettuce. I'm going to go ahead and put this up here. I'm going to center it on the blade-set. Keep your hands out of the way when you are doing this. There you go. I'm going to get some of the excess lettuce. You can see all that beautifully fresh cut lettuce right there. Now, you can also do other types of lettuce. Here I have some red leaf lettuce. I'm going to cut it to size. I think I need to cut it down a little bit more. I want to give this salad a little color. You can see you now have perfectly mixed salad. The blades on the Nemco Easy Lettuce Cutter are very long lasting but when they do become dull, they are very easy to change. Just click on the blade-set in the companion items listed on this page to view a video on just how to change those blades. Fry Cutter Blade Replacement

Fry Cutter Blade Replacement

Replacing the blades on your French Fry Cutters and dicers is very easy, and you’ll have your machine working like new. If you are buying a complete assembly, it comes all put together, so all you have to do is remove the thumbscrews on the old assembly and replace. If you are only changing the blades, it’s a bit more involved but first, you’ll start the same way by removing the thumbscrews and then the blade-set. Now that we’ve done that, we’re going to remove the Phillips head screws from the blade holder assembly. This will allow us to knock out the spacers and the old set of blades. Now you can see I’m using the same screwdriver to help me tap the blades and spacers out. After which, I’m going to place the blade holder on the table top with the blade spacer pockets upward and insert the four blade spacers with their slots towards the inner opening. Then, I’ll insert the first set of blades that have the sharp edge downward and the slots upward. After that, we’re going to insert the blades that have the sharp edge and the slots downwards. You’ll see that sometimes it takes a little bit of wiggling to get that first blade in. One little tip that I found that makes this job easier is to insert a blade on either side of the blade-set and then work your way inwards. It just seems to go easier that way. Now that all of the blades are reinserted, just reattach the blade holder plate and secure it with the Phillips head screws. Finally, we’re going to replace the blade holder assembly with the sharp edges pointing inward and we’re going to reattach with the thumbscrews. Thank you for watching, and if you have any questions, please feel free to use our live chat button.
