What's the difference between an insulated and non-insulated holding cabinet?
Insulated and non-insulated holding cabinets both offer the same function by holding food at safe temperatures for hours until ready to serve, but for best results it's important to make a purchase based on your desired application. Non-Insulated Holding Cabinets are intended for applications where the doors will be closed for the majority of the day, such as proofing bread or keeping back-up portions hot. Insulated Holding Cabinets are better suited for keeping food hot when the doors will be opened and closed much more frequently, since they are better equipped at retaining the heat.

The Metro C5 4 Series C549N-SL full size insulated red transport cabinet provides maximum control and convenience for keeping your food at the optimal serving temperature while on-the-go. Standing at 65 1/4" tall, this cabinet is built for volume, as its lip load slides hold up to (34) 18" x 26" sheet pans on 1 1/2" fixed increments. Its high-quality insulation with foamed-in-place polyurethane polymer panels ensure that the cabinet maintains the optimal temperature, so your food's freshness is always preserved - with food staying hot for up to five hours and cold for up to three hours. Plus, the panels have molded-in handles, adding extra protection during transport.
This cabinet features solid, insulated, 304 type stainless steel construction with a High-Density Polyethylene exterior for superior strength and durability. A one-piece, double-hinged solid door swings out 180 degrees for optimal convenience during loading and unloading, and the door features a magnetic latch with lever-action release for quick access to the cabinet's interior. In addition, (4) 5" plate-mounted casters with two brakes provide mobility and stability.
