I see that this gas unit is "field-convertible." What does that mean?

Gas equipment is factory-set to use either natural gas or liquid propane. Field-convertible equipment allows your unit to accept the other gas type (so for example a natural gas unit could be converted to use liquid propane), but this conversion must happen before it is used.

For safety reasons, a qualified service professional should perform the conversion. Your equipment’s warranty may require that such conversions be done by a professional, and failure to do so may void warranty coverage.

We recommend that you communicate with your installer to also arrange for the gas type conversion at the time of installation.

My business is at a high elevation; does this change anything when I order gas cooking equipment?

Many gas equipment manufacturers need to make adjustments to the equipment so it operates correctly at elevations over 2,000 feet. Sometimes we can special order from the manufacturer and have your cooking equipment delivered ready-to-go, but in cases where your unit is in stock and waiting to ship, you’ll need to have a qualified service technician come to your location and alter your unit at the time of installation so that it is compatible with a higher elevation. Contact our Special Orders team prior to placing your order, and we will let you know what will work best for the equipment you are planning to purchase.

Globe C12HT Details

Cook a variety of your most popular entrees and sides with the Globe C12HT Chefmate 12" gas hot plate! This hot plate features 50,000 BTUs of power between two burners to give you the cooking heat you require to produce high quality food. Its adjustable pilot lights make it easy to change temperature, while the heavy-duty cast iron grates evenly distribute heat. The exterior is made of stainless steel for long-lasting durability, standing up to the wear and tear of a professional kitchen. For added stability, the whole unit is mounted on stainless steel legs with adjustable, non-skid feet.

This unit comes with independent controls that allows you to cook a variety of dishes with varying heat applications, all at once! A removable, stainless steel drip tray keeps the inside of the hot plate, as well as the surrounding area, free from oils spills or crumbs. Plus, thanks to the drip tray's removable design and stainless steel construction, it's easy to clean and place right back in the unit. This hot plate also features a cool-to-the-touch front edge so your employees can avoid extensive heat or any accidental burning. The Globe C12HT Chefmate 12" gas hot plate is shipped as a natural gas unit and can be field converted to liquid propane.
