As a bonus, this carrier comes equipped with a red full size hot board that is convenient and easy to use. This board will extend the temperature holding times of your hot foods by an additional 4 hours by simply placing the board in water no hotter than 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-60 minutes, and slide or place into your carrier. This provides a total of up to 11 hours of perfect storage temperatures!

Hot Board

This board lays flat in the CaterGator food pan carrier and comes equipped with distance knobs that prevent the board from sticking to the pan. A built-in handle conveniently lifts the board in and out of the carrier to avoid injury.

How do I safely heat up the hot board?

1. Check the surface of the hot pack for manipulations and deformities before each use which can compromise the product and make it unsafe for use. IF YOU FIND ANY MANIPULATIONS OR DEFORMITIES, DO NOT USE THE HOT PACK.

2. Preheat water in vessel that can withstand heating and is large enough to cover entire hot pack, vertically, to a maximum water temperature of 200°F.

3. DO NOT directly heat the hot pack with open flame or any other heat transfer method.

4. Put hot pack vertically into preheated hot water, cork facing upward and submerge completely under water for even heating.

5. Heat hot pack in water no hotter than 200°F for 35-60 minutes, and do not heat longer than 60 minutes total heat time.

6. Remove hot pack carefully utilizing proper PPE (water and heat resistant gloves, face shield, and apron).

7. Check the surface of the hot pack again for manipulations and deformities which can compromise the product and make it unsafe for use prior to utilizing in transport. IF YOU FIND ANY MANIPULATIONS OR DEFORMITIES, DO NOT USE THE HOT PACK.

8. Carefully place the hot pack in the bottom tracks of a frontloading carrier or the bottom of a top-loading carrier.

Is this board dishwasher safe?

Yes, this food pan carrier board is dishwasher safe up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

What is the maximum temperature for pans going into the pan carrier?

The food products and food pan should be at or below 195 degrees Fahrenheit for best results and to ensure the longevity of this pan carrier. At higher temperatures, there is a risk of melting the polyethylene over time.
