What does "42DE" stand for?

DE standards for Dextrose Equivalent, and refers to serval factors such as the sweetness and viscosity of the syrup. 42 is the most commonly used DE and has a standard sweetness level similar to standard corn syrup. Anything above 42DE is sweeter and thinner, while anything below is less sweet and thicker.
