Customer questions about this product
- What is the difference between a disher and an ice cream scoop?
- Dishers are designed to control portions of soft foods, such as mashed potatoes, applesauce, or steamed vegetables, whereas ice cream scoops offer the durability necessary to scoop hard, frozen foods, such as ice cream. Both are traditionally sized by the number of scoops per quart that they can produce; however, they may also be sized by the number of ounces they hold. Dishers feature an easy-to-operate thumb press or squeeze-handle design, complete with a quick-release component that ensures no food is unintentionally left behind in the scoop. Ice cream scoops on the other hand, do not feature any movable components.
This #24 ice cream scoop /
dipper comes with a specially-designed, non-stick coating
and is filled with a defrost
fluid that prevents the
dipper from getting too cold
and sticking to the ice cream. Holds 1.5 oz.

This ice cream scooper is a great buy!! Works really good with really frozen ice cream!! Handle is long enough and strong enough to scoop out ice cream without getting your hands all sticky. Perfect little scooper for the price! Giving it 5 stars for sure!!

This ice cream scooper is very easy to clean. It cuts right through hard ice cream for good scoops and the ice cream slides right out.

I love this ice cream scoop. We found out quickly though that if you "hand wash" as directed, but use steel wool, it's not going to be pretty! So don't do what we did! It took off the coating and looks unsightly now. I will buy these again though, because now we know better and they work great! Helps me maintain correct portions.

Great scoops! But the non-stick coating begins to flake off into the ice cream after so long. They can only be hand washed, and placing them in the dishwasher only aggravates the flaking problem.

Thank you for your review! You are correct that non-stick items should be hand washed only. If you are looking for another ice cream scoop, try the Zeroll 1024-ZT Zerolon #24 ice cream scoop as a more durable alternative.
