Ideal for Thickening Sauces
Arrowroot powder can be used as a substitute for cornstarch and flour, making it great for bakeries and restaurants. While this powder does have a similar appearance to cornstarch, it thickens sauces, glazes, and gravies at a lower temperature. This product even prevents ice crystals from forming in ice cream.
Thanks to arrowroot powder's white coloring, it won't alter the color of your jams, jellies, and other fruit fillings.
Arrowroot powder contains no gluten, making it an allergy-free ingredient and a great substitute for flour.

We are disappointed with this product. Unfortunately, the Regal Arrowroot has an unpleasant odor. We aren't sure why because other manufacturers don't have this issue.

I needed sago starch/flour to make my childhood traditional sago cheese cookies and learned that arrowroot flour might be a good substitue. The price here was the lowest I could find for my 'experiment'. First of all, I love that it comes in a big plastic container instead of just in a plastic bag so storing it is a breeze. This is my first time using this type of flour and I immediately noticed that there's a distinct smell from this type of flour, not sure if that's normal or not. It reminds me of the smell of curry/spices though very very subtle. I thought it affected the flavor of my cookies a little bit, again very subtle. As for sago starch substitution on this particular cookies, I don't think it's meeting my expectation. I would say that I could get similar texture using just tapioca flour that's more widely available. I haven't used it as a thickener but I'm expecting it'll work just like tapioca or corn starch.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. This product smells like it has garlic powder mixed into it. Would highly not recommend. I was going to use this product to make my homemade body powder. Who wants to smell like garlic? Gross. Very disappointed in the way packaging was handled.

Great value for the money. This arrowroot powder works great when added to my body butters to help make them feel more silky aND less greasy

This arrowroot powder is wonderful I love to use it in place of cornstarch for making gravies, puddings, and even homemade deodarant. This size is so handy for my needs.

Great thickening agent. Basically does what corn starch does but for people who do not want to use corn starch. I use it for cooking and for homemade deodorant (1 part arrowroot powder, 1 part baking soda, 2 parts coconut oil). The only problem is that the item arrived open .

Thank you for the review, Aviya! Although the seal may appear to be opened, if it was stuck in the lid when the lid was removed, then it was working properly. The seals are made to stick to the inside of the caps for the packing process.

Bought this same product elsewhere at a much higher price ! Wonderful for my Sachet Powders instead of cornstarch ! Am working on gluten free formulations.

Can't beat the price, it's hard to find in some local stores and cost way to much. This will last for awhile and help thicken any sauce that needs help.

I use this at home to make Indian fry bread. Not only is this product hard to find in my area, but it adds that extra something to the food. I will definitely repurchase this item in the future.

This is an amazing price for arrowroot. Now I can try lovely recipes that use arrowroot instead of cornstarch as a thickener. I've heard that it's recommended for dishes to be frozen.

I'm very happy with this purchase, as I use arrowroot powder in a ton of gluten-free baking applications. This is high quality and the most affordable I have found.

I went to Whole Foods today and bought two small 2oz bottles. I got online just now to see if I could find a better price for a larger amount for future purchases and I am sincerely impressed. This stuff is great!!

I only somewhat recently found out about using Arrowroot as a thickener but now it is my thickener of choice. Corn starch adds a certain consistency and very subtle flavor to dishes whereas Arrowroot does not. If you know how to use it, this is an excellent tool!

I absolutely, first of all, love the price on this product! Arrowroot is usually so expensive. It is so great for thickening, as opposed to cornstarch, no flavor detection.

Regal Bulk always does it right with their bulk products! Arrow root is a great thickening agent, it is a great substitute for corn starch.

From what I have used, this is a nice and high quality product. The 5 pound container is great for storage and it is a great price as well. Better than cornstarch for thickening, this won't separate.

Going to school which is huge in the culinary arts everyone is surprised at the great price for this arrowroot. It doesn't change the flavor of any of your foods and creates a great thickness to all of your sauces and other foods.

This is an amazing price for this amount of arrowroot!! It thickens so much better than cornstarch and leaves you with a translucent sauce that won't thin out after an hour in the steam table.

I recently gave into the requests of my customers and began using this product as a thickener as opposed to corn starch and have nothing but good things to say. The product is healthier and in my experience, this allows for the taste of the ingredients to come through truer than with corn starch.

I have recently gone gluten free and also have to avoid corn products (like corn starch) and potato products. When recipes call for starches, they usually require corn starch saying that you can replace it with tapioca starch..that works. But then they ask for a second starch, like potato and the recipes just didn't work well with using the tapioca for both. Arrowroot powder is sold in small 1-4 oz amounts in most places for an outrageous price. I was thrilled to find this in a 5 lb container at a reasonable price. It has made a remarkable difference in my gluten free baking and cooking. It's a perfect thickener if you are trying to get away from corn starch. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have been telling all of my gluten free baking friends about this!

I HAVE RECOMMENDED ARROWROOT TO SEVERAL OF MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE USED CORN STARCH AS A THICKENER. ARROWROOT LEAVES MY DISHES LOOKING ELEGANT BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF STAYING CLEAR AT LOWER TEMPERATURES. PEPPER STEAK IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AS WELL AS FISH DISHES SERVED WITH RICE (OR PASTA) THICKENED WITH CHICKEN BROTH AND ARROWROOT. COOKING LOOKS MORE GORMET AND TASTES GOOD.
