Didn't realize the difference between this Roaster over and a store bought one but there is a big difference! This Roaster cooks so much better than my store bought one does!

We were hoping to use this to make large batches of sauce and caramel. Unfortunately we found that the temperature was very different from one area of the pan to the other. instead of being able to set the temp and check periodically, we found that we had to constantly watch and stir the contents. We also found that the side walls of the pan were much hotter than the bottom resulting in burning on the sides of the pans.

this roaster oven seemed to be a good product but after 6 weeks of daily use ( mind you it was used for about 3 hours a day Monday thru Friday) it is just not working anymore. it heats to the temperature it is set for and then shuts down, not to be heating/ keeping the temp. getting a hold of the production company Hamilton Beach is a hassle too. it might be a good roaster oven if you use it only on holidays and such but not for daily commercial use.

Just received this Roaster Oven. It is a Procter Silex instead of the Hamilton Beach that was in the describtion, however, it is also a commercial model. Very nice, it is much heavier than the residential use models available elsewhere. Should stand up to very heavy use in our church kitchen.
