The rapid-load bump and feed trimmer head line is designed to load easily with 3 steps. Take care of large or small jobs with a 17" cutting swath and 3-speed options, including low at 4,600 RPM, medium at 5,500 RPM, and high at 7,000 RPM for a range of cutting power. This arborist's trimming tool weighs 12.3 lb. with the battery in place for reduced operator fatigue and is compatible with Makita 40V MAX XGT lithium-ion batteries and chargers.

This trimmer features a torque drive that shifts between speeds automatically and a reverse (clockwise) rotation system that keeps the trimmer head free of grass and weeds. It also features a steel drive shaft for less vibration and IPX4 weather-resistant construction for durability and longer equipment life. This item is designed with a brush cutter debris shield and loop handle with a barrier bar for compatibility with Makita brush cutter blades (sold separately). The trimmer features XPT (Extreme Protection Technology), which protects the unit from excess dirt, debris, water, or mud during intense jobs, and is also equipped with Star Protection computer controls to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

This trimmer includes (1) 40V MAX XGT lithium-ion 4.0 Ah battery and 1 charger. The battery features an LED indicator that shows the charge level clearly as well as rails, an impact-resistant outer case, and a shock-absorbing inner liner engineered to protect the battery and ensure it remains securely attached to the tool. The charger allows the batteries to reach a full charge in just 45 minutes and features a digital display that indicates the battery charge level. This trimmer is only for use with Makita batteries and chargers.
