As others have pointed out, this whip isn't ideal for thick batters. Once I have added a significant amount of flour (such as when making bread dough in the Kitchenaid stand mixer) I switch over to the flat beater to finish mixing (then switch to the dough hook once finished adding most of my flour). Whisk also seems to work best with more than 1 cup mixture of liquid/egg, since I typically hand mix the yeast/water/sugar mixture before I start my bread dough in the mixer.

For the price I was expecting it to hold up better than the other KitchenAid whips have. This one twist and torks out of shape and we find ourselves constantly having to realign the wire prior to each use. It's slightly better but still the most disappointing part of our KitchenAid.

Thanks for your review! This whip is designed to handle the demands of the foodservice industry but using it to mix thick batters and large quantities will put strain on the whip. Thick batters should be mixed in smaller quantities in order to reduce strain.

This is a great wire whip, especially if you are trying to incorporate air in to any of your products. This will help create airy souffles, whip creams, and meringues.

Purchased this head when I got my KitchenAid mixer. It has worked very well. It creates a nice current in the batter. Also very strong wires prevent bending.
