What makes the polypropylene plastic material unique?
Polypropylene has a translucent color with some visibility and has average stain resistance and durability/rigidity. It has a temperature range of -40 to 160 degrees and is not recommended for use in the freezer or microwave for long periods of time. However, it is safe for cleaning in the dishwasher. Additionally, it is BPA-free and meets NSF standards. Polypropylene ranks at a mid-level price point. These specifications are based on standard use of products, extreme conditions could alter product quality over time. Though temperature range is representative of microwave and freezer use, it is not recommended for certain materials and may cause products to deform or break.

These 4 quart containers are the perfect size to hold a full 5lb bag of flour. 4 lbs of red lentils gets them about half-full. Be aware that you have to buy the lids separately, and they don't have a gasket, so it will not be air-water tight.

After years of constant residential use as a bin to collect kitchen scraps, emptied weekly into the compost, I can highly recommend this Cambro. Both container and lid have held up well to daily use, weekly cleaning, and a racoon attack when I accidentally left out overnight. The lid now needs replacing, but that is my fault for said racoon chew toy. The container has stained, but again, this is on me as I neglected to empty before leaving town for a week. The numbers are still visible, it's easy to clean, zero lingering smells post wash, and with the lid on, holds scents in. This workhorse of a container has infinite uses and I cannot recommend more.
