Reach in refrigerators and reach in freezers are the workhorses of a commercial kitchen, and we expect a lot out of them. Since they're running 24/7, we want a reliable, high performance product. When the time comes to replace your existing unit, or you're starting up and want an affordable, high performance, model, why not check out our Avantco Refrigeration CFD Series? They offer more standard features than any other model, regardless of price!
Here are a few special features of the CFD series that I'd like to point out:
Stainless Steel Interior, Sides and Doors
Check out the specs of a few well known, more expensive brands. Think you'll get a stainless steel interior? Yeah, right. Not standard at least-- Try vinyl coated aluminum, or white coated steel, or plastic. Stainless steel sides? Probably not. Our Avantco CFD reach in refrigerators and freezers come with a durable, easy to clean stainless steel interior, plus stainless steel doors and sides.
Digital Temperature Controls and LCD Readout
Digital temperature controls, and a crisp, easy to read temperature readout allow for precise monitoring and adjustment of interior temperatures. You might be adjusting and monitoring the interior temperatures with a dial on some more expensive models...
Sliding Shelf Rail Design
Many more expensive models just support the shelves with cheap metal clips. Avantco CFD reach in refrigerators and freezers utilize heavy duty slide rails, which have a number of benefits aside from durability. They're still easy to adjust and move, but you can also slide the shelves in an out easily.Plus, they're spaced just right so you can slide out the shelves and slide in full size food pans!
Self Closing, Lockable Doors
Your employees are in and out of the reach in all day. And you've probably walked past a reach in more than once with the door hanging open, or not shut all the way. Avantco CFD reach in's feature self closing doors, which helps you conserve energy and ensures that your food is being held at the correct temperatures. Standard door locks let you secure the contents overnight to protect your valuable inventory.
You just get more for your money with an Avantco CFD reach in. Every unit is ETL Sanitation listed and NSF compliant. Sturdy casters, two with brakes, allow you to easily move the unit for cleaning or maintenance, and the bottom-mounted compressor design raises the height of the bottom shelf for easier access. Plus, if the unit would ever need servicing, it's easier for the tech to reach.
Every Avantco Refrigeration unit is backed by a 1 year parts and labor warranty, and the compressor is covered for 5 years.
If you're looking for a single door reach in, choose an Avantco CFD1 series instead of a True T-23 or T-23F and you'll save $550 to over $600! What about a comparable Bev Air model KF24-1 or KR24-1 series? You'll still save over $300!
In the market for a 2 door reach in? Save between $800 to $1100+ with an Avantco CFD2 series instead of a True T-49 or T-49F. Or, save $550 to $760 over a Bev Air KR48 or KF-48 series 2 door reach in.
Don't forget that on top of the lower purchase price you're getting more standard features with an Avantco model. With all that left over money, you could replace a couple other pieces of equipment too!

Hi Adriana! We have sold lots of Avantco refrigerators and freezers, and have not received any negative feedback as far as noise goes! To answer your second question, the glass door freezers are the only ones that have heat in the glass. The only time fogging should be an issue is if the unit is placed in a high-humidity location. Hope this helps and than you for your questions!
