How do I reset the coffee urn when it will not turn on?
Your urn is most likely not turning on as a result of its automatic shut-off after a boil dry accident. If your urn has boiled dry, it will not operate (though the pilot light will remain on) until reset.
To reset the urn, unplug it and allow it to cool. Remove the plastic bottom, find the reset button in the control section, and press the button. Replace the plastic bottom, plug the appliance in, and switch it back on.
If the pilot light turns back on, the unit has recovered to normal working condition If it does not turn back on, unplug the appliance and repeat the process.
In the event of repeat boil dry incidents, the metal layering, thermal limiter, and heating element of the urn may be damaged beyond repair. For this reason, it is important to read the supplied manual and follow all instructions for avoiding boil dry accidents.

The concession stand that I run for a non profit group owns one of these and it works great. I personally bought a second one for them, to just keep water hot for hot chocolate and tea, etc.

Our church has been using this urn for about six months and we love it. It looks great (sleek and shiny). Also, we can store it in a lower cabinet all set up, all together, unlike the larger urns which don't fit in a standard cupboard with the cover on. Note that for those once-in-a-blue-moon times when you want to set up ahead of time, because the brew baskets sits low, you will get slightly less than the max 55 cups--about 45--otherwise the basket will touch the water. This is a great product for this price, especially if you need a good amount of coffee but don't want to break out the 100-cup urn. Highly recommended.

This pot works great, so far I have not had any problem with the Avantco Coffee urn. The consumers have no complaints that I am aware of.

Didn't have a coffee pot because we didn't think we needed one. We got this for a special catering event and it more than paid for itself in one day. Perking takes a little longer than we'd like, but overall a great value.
