This Ateco #9 open star pastry tube makes quick work of icing cupcakes. It is well constructed and durable. Be careful cleaning it, it is very sharp!

Have loved using this tip for piping pate a choux, specifically, for eclairs. The ridges created by the tip itself allowed the choux to puff nicely and expand while baking. The tip is quite large and fits the Ateco 404 large coupler, also available on this site.

This is a good tip for making professional-looking cupcakes. It is large enough to get a nice top on a cupcake or border on a buttercream or whipped frosting cake.

Very versatile tip for cupcake decorating! I think the size/shape is quite comparable to my 1A tip. The open star shape is perfect for borders, rose swirls, cupcakes, star shapes - definitely my favorite tip!

I prefer these open star tips rather than the closed star tips because they can handle pushing out frosting that may be chunky (cookies n' cream, German chocoloate).

This tip is perfect for making butter chips or piping mouse into small glasses. I found it easier for catering to have several for multi bags to pipe on site. They always come clean!!!

One of my favorite tips for frosting cupcakes. Creates enough texture in frosting to hold sprinkles or nuts. I like how the opening is wider and lets more frosting come out to make the process go faster.
