Great little cakes tester. For the price it cannot be beat. Quit wasting toothpicks and/or skewers and buy a few of these! You will not be disappointed.

Simple tester, Not too sharp, so you don't have to worry about accidentally jabbing yourself (which is more common than you'd think). Its simple design also makes it easy to clean.

Previous I used toothpicks to check my to see if my cakes were ready, after purchasing this tester I no longer have a need for toothpicks and this is washable.

These cake testers does what they're supposed to do. Much better than leaving a large hole from inserting a toothpick. They're lightweight and easy to carry around. I bought 8 of these because they're so cheap and necessary in a pastry shop.

Why waste all your skewers checking cakes when you can have this cake tester thats reusable?! Its a great tool to have around the bakery and I would totally recommend it for anyone baking cakes often.

Thank you for getting my shipment here on time. The item was exactly what I needed. The cake tester works great! I will shop again soon.

A very useful tool. In the past I've used table knives to test my jumbo muffins and it would cut right through it but I had no other option since tooth pick is too short to do the job. I had no idea there is such a thing as a cake tester. I'm glad I found this. I bought it over a year ago and it still looks great.

Tired of always having to dig for a toothpick to test your cakes? This is it! It's much thinner than a toothpick so there's no worry about leaving a noticeable hole in your baked goods.

We love these little guys! You can never have enough of them handy. The price is extremely reasonable and you can easily grab the flat handle (with grips) when the oven timer is going off!

The cake testers are so much better than using a toothpick! Their also great in that they do not take up a lot of space!

Having Ateco 1445 Cake Testers in the kitchen is a no brainer. They don't mark up food like a fork would and are much more convenient than toothpicks when making large batches.

Most bakers will just use a toothpick to test their baked goods but I prefer the Ateco cake tester because it's longer and does not create unsightly holes in your muffins/loaves and other goods that won't be covered w/ frosting.

No more toothpicks for me! I was skeptical when I first opened this. It seemed cheap and a bit flimsy. I am NOT disappointed! Works like a charm and I love that it's long enough to really check deep cake layers. The tab is handy, making it easy to grasp. So easy to clean. At such a great price, buy a few!

This is a product i thought was going to make baking at home easier but it just made things more complexed. I have to take more time to insert the product, cleaning it & making sure it doesn't break.it's too small for the job at hand. Tiara P.

This is a great cake tester. They are quite sharp so they go into whatever it is you're baking without much effort. It is also a nice length. I hated using tooth picks because they were so shorty, sometimes I wouldn't be able to get through to the center of my baked goods. The tab at the top of the product is a nice touch as it keeps your fingers cool and makes it easier to pinch the tester. Best of all, it's stainless steel, which means it can be washed and reused.

This is does its job well. The disc at the top makes it easy to grasp and locate. At this price, you can't go wrong. It's a decent quality product.

These cake testers are great. And they're long enough that you can test the doneness of a lot of deep food items such as quick breads.

Every one of our bakers has one of these in their pockets. Daily use and abuse and the only time we need to replace them is when they are lost, great tools.

    from batch bakehouse Posted on

It's simple, straight and stiff enough to stay straight. The large, colorful end makes it easy to find quickly, and ensures that you won't be accidentally discarding it.

    from Midori's Enterprises Posted on

This cake tester is a lot better than the one I picked up from a craft store. I like this one because the test stick is very thin much like a tooth pick. The other one was way too big.

from Simply Irresistible Treats Posted on

this little gadget is handier than scrounging up toothpicks all the time. it doesn't create such a large whole in the product as well. very much worth the minimal cost.

    from uncommon grains Posted on

I love this cake testing. You need to be able to check the cake and you don't want to go through all of your toothpicks while doing so. Definitely worth it.

What a great little tool the Ateco 1445 Cake Tester (August Thomsen) is. Saves me for hunting down tooth picks. This sits in my baking case and stays till I need it. Wonderful price.

These are wonderful! I buy them almost by bulk because they are so cheap. If you think your cake might be done stick this in it and if it comes out clean, then its ready!

This is a great cake, brownie tester. It is a little smaller than expected, But works great and easy to clean and reuse .You can't beat the price.

these item is really cheap and bends alot. it also is really tiny i was expecting it to be alot bigger! i was a little disapointd with this product.

these i didnt like ,I'll stick to the old knife and side pull away method to see if the cakes are done , other than that i use them to pop bubbles in fondant to clearing a small icing tip

    from jeanne's bakeshop Posted on

These things are great to have around. And they are cheap enough to buy a handful in case you lose them. I mostly use these to test the doneness of meats. Just stick it in the center for a few seconds and touch it to your lip or wrist. Quicker than a thermometer and barely leaves a mark.

I really like this little cake tester. Before I was using toothpicks and that got to be a pain to carry around in my pocket. This little gem fits in to my chef's coat and it's a breeze the clean. For the price you just can't beat it. I plan to order more to give to my culinary student friends.

What a nice little cake tester. I enjoyed using it to test my brownies. Love the little grip; very comfortable and easy to hold on to. I've had others in the past but hated the top little ring at the top to hold. I will be back for more of these.

As simple as it may seem this is a great tool. We all carry them on the day to day grind. Simple and gets the job done!

So much nicer than using a toothpick. I hate waste and love that these are reusable. Great for testing deep cakes. I have multiple and love them.

    from Countryside Cakes Posted on

Very neat thing. We like it that it's thin and seems sturdy enough. We find it very handy in our baking. Definitely a good buy.

    Ateco cake tester

So much better than a toothpick. This allows me to test large cakes that are 4 inches deep or taller. A toothpick just won't do that.

A cake tester is a must for an avid baker and I am one. I have used my thermometer, pop sticks, and ice pick at various times, neither of which are good to test soft crumbed cakes. This thin-needled cake tester leaves no gaping hole and can be used multiple times to test for doneness without having to worry about ruining the cake.

    a must for active bakers

This is a nice little inexpensive tool for easily checking the doneness of baked goods without damaging the product. It is a great tool to cook with too.

One of the SINGLE most important tools in our bakery! The tester is nice and long to check doneness in our jumbo cupcakes and muffins.

from Happy Day Cafe Posted on

This is one of the basic supplies in a kithen you will reach for again and again! A simple, accurate way to determine the doneness of baked goods, and better than a toothpick because of it's nice long legnth that gets right to the center of larger, higher cakes. I like to include one or two of these in a new cook's gift, or buy a bunch for a cute favor at a shower or housewarming. Ateco is a quality company, and this is a quality product!

    from homeschool Posted on

This is perfect for making sure your cakes and other baked goods are cooked. Just slide it into the cake and see if there's any stuff that comes out.

I love this little tool. I constantly leave it in my sleeve and when I do need to check on meats, seafood or vegetables I take it out and test it with this handy device.

reusable and durable. the length is long enough to poke it deep into the middle part of the cake and the price is cheap enough to buy to stock up

I never thought I would recommend buying a cake tester but this one works very well. We use this on a daily basis and though it takes some getting used too, it works very well!

from The Pie Kitchen Posted on

Our resident baker says that it doesn't work as well as a good old knife. It also is rather easy to misplace--though its small size is indeed one of its benefits.

    from Bowers House Posted on

Great product takes the guess work out of baking cakes. I would recomend this for anyone who bakes cakes. Great value and you can not even see the hole its so small.

    from Cummings Family Posted on

Bought this in 2010 and it is still going strong. I use this every Sunday after baking to test my cakes. So its done its job. Another Great Product!

This is a pretty neat product to have around the kitchen or bake shop. its a lot better to use one of these than just a tooth pick or something else. it leaves a very tiny hole.

Love this cake tester. Really love how nice and thin it is. It doesn't make a noticeable hole in the cake as some other brands do.

    from Po's Pastries Posted on

from Lera's Cakes & Catering Posted on

I bake very often and this works better than any toothpick. I love, love, love, this. It's inexpensive but works very well. It's better to order more than 1 since I keep losing mine.

    good long tester

good tester very thin but holds up good.

    nice item

When baking cupcakes, you can never have enough cake testers. This works well, I just wish the top was not so flat, sometimes it's hard to pick up with potholders!

A fantastic little tool for cake baking! I had used everything from toothpicks, to chopsticks to even a butter knife to check the doneness of my cupcakes. This was such a great purchase, I recommend.

it works well when I remember to use it but I wish it was a little bit bigger. I bought several in case they get lost.

from Prescott Pines Camp Posted on

Great little tool that is perfect for testing all sorts of baked goods. Great for the ones that are very delicate and can sometimes get destroyed when poked with a knife or fork!

Neatest little gadget to have in your kitchen drawer to test cakes, etc. For so long I used the tip of a steak knife and that is overkill--this item is needle thin and works the best. Patricia, Front Royal, VA

This cake tester is simple to use, easy to handle and clean, and due to the bright colored grip, it is easy to spot on your counter top.

    Posted on

This is a really handy little tool that anyone can afford to have in their kitchen. Skewers and tooth picks leave a big hole in my cakes. This leaves an almost unnoticeable hole. And it's easier to "read" than a toothpick. It's really clear when it's wet, holding a crumb, or dry. And the shipping is so fast!

    from Mahogany Roasters Posted on

Have used this cake tester many times. I like the fact that the blue handle is east to hold on to so you don't drop it like some other skinny cake testers. I wish the lead point would be a little longer; but for the price, a must need instrument for any baker.
