This is a handy, inexpensive gadget to keep around if you bake a lot. I used to use a toothpick to test cakes, but sometimes it would leave a noticeable hole on the surface. This cake tester is small and leaves no signs the cake was ever poked.

The thin needle is a better option than using a toothpick, skewer, fork or anything else. It's easy to grip, simple to wash and is rust proof.

This little cake tester has proven to be wonderful so far. NO MORE trying to find a toothpick and hoping I hit the center of what we're cooking. Seems study enough so far.

Love the Ateco Cake Tester. Sure a toothpick (or knowing when its done by touch) works just as well, but these are nice to have on hand.

I will be using this cake tester contantly for my cakes and cupcakes. It is very slim so it does not create a giant whole like most knives, forks, or picks.

Nice thin but sturdy and a nice little addition to my kitchen tools. I just like it cause when you check a cake it doesn't leave holes like toothpick do

These are great both for checking cakes but also for checking the doneness of certain foods, like potatoes; it is also a great way to check the internal temperature of meats. They're so cheap you can buy in bulk and even if you lose some it's not that big of a deal.

This is much better than using toothpicks. The length is great and they do not leave large holes after checking the cake. They are cheaper than the other brand i have.

Love that you can test your cake or pie. With no big holes left behind. As an eye sore. Has a tab to keep your fingers cool to the touch that makes it easy to test your food of choice. Easy to wash with soapy water. Very little footprint with no waste. The price is a giveaway

It is the best cake tester......ever. It is easy to get bent (my kids accidentally did while washing the dishes) ....It is inexpensive enough to get another one anytime :-)

This cake tester actually works very well! its way more cost efficient then buying countless toothpicks over and over. Nice size and reusable. cant beat that!

Very nifty little gadget for testing cakes. Much longer than an ordinary toothpick so you don't have to worry if you have a particularly thick cake. These are obviously going to be made cheaply for the price but I can't see it breaking unless you abuse it in some kind of way.

this is a handy tool to have at the kitchen. I use it to make sure my cake, bread or pastry are done. Much better than toothpicks!

This item is super affordable and definitely a great addition to the kitchen. It's better than a toothpick as it goes deeper into the cake. Easy clean up as well.

Sure, you could use a toothpick but with these cake testers you can test deeper into the cake and they last much longer. Save money overall with these.

I normally use a toothpick but this is even better since it is smaller yet longer at 6 inches. The blue handle is easy to see and easy to grip.

This Ateco 1445 Cake Tester (August Thomsen) is very thin and flimsy and not worth buying . Just keep using a tooth pick to check your cake.

I remember these from childhood but I have to admit I began using toothpicks and such to test. I was happy to rediscover these. They work well and don't leave the whole that the toothpicks do.
