This is such a simple idea but SO worth it!! It's such an affordable price. This works much better than a fork and much easier to use than a toothpick!

This cake tester is a great product its dishwasher safe and in the drawer full of tools the little blue handle makes it so much easier to find! I will definitely order a couple more

Not sure why I have never owned one of these......the needle part is super thin, and long, which is wonderful for not making a big whole in a cupcake/cake to check it. Loved the price too :).

Ateco 1445 Cake Tester (August Thomsen) is a great little cake tester. I really like that is has a larger handle for holding the tester.

Now I regret that I only ordered one of these. When it's nice you do it twice!! I will most definitely be ordering another one or even two in my next order. I love it!! Goodbye toothpicks!!! Au revoir!!!

Neat little product. Much better than using skewers because it does not make as big of a hole in your baked goods. Also it is more sanitary and stores well in chef coat pocket.

As a team we make special event cakes and Decorating cake contest entries. Ateco put the competition to shame the quality is worth the money. You will not be disappointed.

I really like these, especially for my Jamaican Black cakes, which can be 4" high, and a toothpick will not work for that height. It got a 4 instead of a 5 because this can be too slick and hard to tell if your baked goods are fully cooked especially near the end of baking. I sometimes have to use a skewer.

No more toothpicks and skewers!!! this is such a great little item i never knew i needed until i got one. Before i'd use toothpicks or skewers which would leave a noticeable hole on the cake, but no more.

Nice to have a dedicated tool to test the "doneness" of cakes. Used to use skewers.. No more wasting wood skewers now! The only issue is that I wish it had a cover or case to go in with a pocket clip. This thing is almost needle thickness and could be a puncture hazard if just thrown in a pocket.

For the price of this, this is the perfect little cake tester. I have been looking to buy some metal stakes for checking my cakes, but this was the perfect item and now i don't need to buy skewers

Just the right length and thickness to test any cake. Sturdy and durable, cleans up easily. I also use to poke holes in pie crust to prevent it from bubbling up.

This Ateco Cake Tester is great for not only testing all of my cakes, but I use it for cupcakes too! I have a few of these!

I've wasted too many wooden skewers before buying this product. It fits conveniently into your sleeve pocket and the handy blue end makes it easy to find again.

This tool (cake tester) was very inexpensive and works great, better than a toothpick and love the fact that is longer and easy to clean.

Super inexpensive and gets the job done. These are so much more efficient than simply sticking a knife in the middle or something similar to check if your goods are done. Worth having a few around.

I felt kind of silly purchasing this since a toothpick or skewer can be used to check a cake for doneness. But I have gotten splinters from running my finger along toothpicks and skewers when I wipe crumbs or batter off to retest. This implement will never give you a splinter, it's long enough to test a deep cake, and I prefer reusing this over throwing out toothpicks and skewers which always seem to tear the plastic liners I use in my trash bins. Garbage is nasty enough to deal with without a leak; with one it's a nightmare.

Another item we ordered less than a week before Christmas and it arrived in time to test the Christmas Eve banana bread, How is that for fast service? A neat little tool which saves you from leaving fork holes in the top of your bread when you test it.

This inexpensive little cake tester is an essential tool I'm my bakery for testing my cupcakes and cakes. Occasionally the metal tester pops out of the plastic grip and it takes a moment to stick back together, but for the price it gets the job done.
