How to Season a Panini Grill

How to Season a Panini Grill

Keeping your Panini grill seasoned is an important step in maintaining the cast iron plates. Once you have received your Panini grill, it’s important to take the proper steps in caring for it before your first use. In order to protect the plates of your new grill during transportation, a layer of food-safe oil was coated on the surface prior to shipment. This oil is harmless, but must be removed before you begin to use.To remove, preheat the grill to 350 degrees f or until the oil liquifies. Next, carefully wipe away the melted oil with a clean, soft cloth and clean the surfaces with hot water and a mild dish detergent. Once the oil is removed and you have cleaned the surface, you are ready to season. Seasoning is important for any cast iron item used in the kitchen. It will keep your Panini grill from rusting and ensure a nice stick resistant surface. To season, preheat the grill to 400 degrees F. Once the preheat light turns off, place a small amount of oil in center of the grill. Using a soft dry cloth, spread the oil around covering the top and bottom of the grill. Let heat for 15min or until all oil has been burnished. Your grill may need to be reseasoned periodically due to heavy cleaning. Just follow those simple steps to ensure your grill stays rust free and stick resistant. Thanks for watching, and if you have any questions, please click on our live chat button.

Flat Panini Grill

Flat Panini Grill

This Waring compact toasting grill is a really great versatile piece of equipment to have in your kitchen. You can make anything from grilled cheeses to hamburgers to Cuban sandwiches which is what I’m going to show you how to make today. First, I’m going to place two slices of ham on my roll, then a slice of roast pork, two slices of Swiss cheese and two slices of dill pickle. Then, I’m going to put a little bit of yellow mustard on the half of my roll. Now, it’s time to toast these sandwiches. I’m using the Waring toasting grill with flat plates because I want the Cuban sandwiches to be nice and toasted on both sides and flattened a little bit. I’m just going to spray a little bit of Vegalene on the plates to prevent sticking and place these sandwiches on the grill; and these have nice heavy plates so I press down and I don’t need to sit and hold the top down. And, here you can see we have a beautifully and evenly toasted Cuban sandwich made with the Waring flat sandwich grill. Customer questions about this product

How can I properly care for cast iron surfaces?
In order to prevent unwanted build-up of oils, grease, and food, surfaces should be cleaned after use while still slightly warm. Harsh chemicals or scouring pads should not be used—only hot water and a cloth or sponge are needed. If some areas require extra cleaning, a mild scouring pad can be used. Please refer to our Pan Seasoning Guide for further information on properly cleaning and seasoning cast iron surfaces.
