Do I need to wash this griddle before use?

Yes, this griddle must be washed prior to use. It is coated with a brown, protective, food-grade preservative, which can collect dust or debris. Washing the griddle removes this preservative and ensures a sanitary surface for cooking.

My griddle isn’t heating evenly – is something wrong?
