The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct), in
effect since January 1, 2006, states that all
pre-rinse units and replacement spray
valves used for ware washing must have a
maximum flow of 1.6 gpm at 60
psi.
Now,
more than ever, water conservation is a
primary concern in the foodservice
plumbing industry. The Food Service
Technology Center (FSTC) appliance
testing laboratory says that "a low-flow pre-
rinse spray valve is one of the easiest and
most cost effective energy saving devices
available," reducing water consumption,
water heating energy and sewer
charges.
T&S was first to bring the
pre-rinse to the
foodservice plumbing industry, and we
quickly became the standard. Today, the
new JeTSpray shows that T&S has
reinvented the spray valve. The fast-rinsing
and EPAct compliant B-0108C JeTSpray
valve offers power and
efficiency. With a flow rate of 1.2 gpm this
model offers
the cleaning efficiency and durability you
have come to expect from
T&S.
With such a low flow rate compared to a standard pre-rinse spray valve (1.2 gpm versus about 4 gpm), you could easily save up to 100,000 gallons of water per year, resulting in hundreds of dollar of savings! That's estimating that the valve is operated for approximately 2 hours per day 300 days out of the year.
This T&S B-0108C spray
valve
can be used with most commercial pre-
rinse hoses. A repair kit is available under
