For the perfect consistency, the temperature is automatically set, so all you need to do is press the on / off control for operation. The pilot light illuminates when the maker is ready for use and the digital timer indicates when the waffles are done cooking. The unit itself is designed with non-stick, aluminum baking plates, so the waffles easily release, and the maker is ready for the next round of batter.
