Parsley is the dried leaf of Petroselinum
crispum, a biennial in the parsley family.
Fresh is the word most often used to
describe parsley's taste, but it's also
slightly peppery and almost anise-like
when used by itself to season dishes.
More often than not, however, parsley is
paired with other seasonings to round
them out and deepen their flavors. Make
your own no-salt herb blend by combining
1 tablespoon each of Regal Parsley
Flakes, marjoram, and thyme. Parsley
Flakes are high in Vitamins A and C and
contains iron, iodine, and copper.
Regal Parsley Flakes add color, and thus
visual appeal to many foods. Parsley is
used in egg dishes, soups, stocks, and
with other herbs to bring out their flavor. It
is popular in Middle Eastern cuisine and
the spice blends of fine herbs, bouquet
garni, and pestos. Regal Parsley Flakes
go well with almost any meat, soup, or
salad as a seasoning or garnish. Stretch
homemade pesto and other green sauces
by adding a generous amount of parsley
during mixing. Stir Regal Parsley into
melted garlic butter for a savory, yet simple,
pasta or steamed vegetable topper. Add
directly to liquids, cooked foods, melted
butter, and salad dressings for a light spicy
touch. Crush Regal Parsley in your hand or
with a mortar and pestle before adding to
food. Sold in a .75 lb container.
