Overall User Rating: Offset "Y" Peeler ( 4.5 stars from 35 reviews )

Good peeler, does the job. I don't like the serrations in the blades of the peeler as they tend to create a funky pattern in the vegetable.

A nice peeler at a great price. The grip is comfortable and easy to handle. I would recommend this as an item to have in the kitchen.

    from Brian Gingras Posted on

I love the offset "Y" peeler, which is so much easier to use than regular straight peelers. They seem to work a lot better for knobby or irregularly shaped items. Good quality and great price.

    from Home Use Posted on

The grip is nice, it feels firm in my hand. Unfortunately, the peeling was bad. I tried peeling some carrots. I didn't pay attention to the serrated blade when I was buying it. Overall, it does a good job of making very thin peels but it's very bad at biting into the carrot.

This peeler works very well. Easy to use, clean and put away. this is a replacement for my other one and the blade stays sharp for years and years even with constant use.

    from FRANK DIEGUEZ Posted on

I like, but do not love, this peeler. The reason I do not love it is that it is just too big for me personally. The blade is too far away from the handle for me, if that makes sense, and the handle is pretty wide. So if you have small hands this might not be your best bet.

This Offset "Y" Peeler is actually pretty good quality, comfortable, and pretty sharp. It is heavy duty enough to be used in a commercial setting, but affordable enough that you can keep them around for you the house.

we have been super happy with this offset "y" peeler. fits great in your hand and works very well. and with this price you really cant go wrong.

Needed a few extra hands for a large peeling job and this worked as smooth as my standard peeler. It was sharp enough to handle potatoes and carrots and also thin zucchini slices. No complaints here.

This peeler works very well. I prefer to use mine in a home setting rather than for commercial use. Easy to use, clean and store. Recommended!

I was very disappointed in this peeler. It seemed fairly comfortable to use... until the top snapped off from the handle after only a couple uses. Sorry to say that if you're looking for a peeler that will last, keep looking.

Thank you for your review! These are a great value. If you're looking for a different style and more durable alternative, try the Victorinox 40694 ambidextrous handle potato peeler instead!

Bought this just to add another piece to my bag hoping it would be better then a few others i have bought in the past. I am delighted to say it works better and easier then a few that I spent 4 times as much on. This one is staying in my bag for a long long time.

This peeler is comfortable to hold, but not as sharp as other peelers I've had. Because of the lack of sharpness, you have to press quite hard to cut into what you're peeling, and that also makes the peelings thicker, so more waste. So far, I've tried it on apples and cucumbers, and with both ended up switching back to my old peeler, which did a much better job. Maybe it will work better on something else, but I'm not sure what that would be.

This is not the best peeler for heavy use and certainly not for saving produce. A lot of pressure is required to engage the blade and the peelings are always thicker than we would like them to be which leads to waste - terrible when the carrots are already skinny. Overall it's not a horrible offset peeler but we wouldn't buy another.

This peeler is really nice and it also works for thin shavings to garnish dishes. Nice and compact and easy to use. Great purchase for us I will get more.

I like this peeler for long and short items alike. It saves your wrist when peeling small, delicate items, although I still prefer a parer to peel most small fruits. It also works well for long items like squash and carrots where your wrist would have to be constantly moving with a straight peeler. Very sharp edge, works especially well when pushing the blade.

Wow! Love this. I was skeptical of this different model but it makes peeling a breeze! My husband still likes the traditional style b/c he says this kind slows him down. Besides potatoes, this is also awesome for peeling mangoes.

We LOVE this peeler!! We were little hesitant about the offset shape, but it has worked out perfectly. Much better than some of the more expensive peelers we've purchased!

Very easy to use! We love this new peeler! I can't recommend it enough to anyone whom might be hesitant about the design! It works wonderfully!

For this price, this peeler is amazing. Works just as well as any peeler I've ever used. Being left-handed, I've had trouble using certain peelers in the past, but this one works like a charm.

A Y-peeler is a great tool in the kitchen especially for difficult to peel root vegetables and squashes like like sweet potatoes and butternut squash. It's super cheap and useful.

Works as well as a much higher priced OXO unit we bought at retail for less than half the price. Keeps its edge longer too. The grip is better than the OXO so its quite the bargain

This thing is FAST. Absolutely the best for peeling potatoes, carrots, etc. Makes very quick work of supper vegetables, and I've yet to cut myself with it. Great!

This large offset peeler is the best. I can shave off any veggie skin with it. It's especially great for large vegetables like zucchini, where the little can cause hand cramps.

This peeler is amazing. It peels even the toughest skins off of food, such as butternut squash, with ease. It works for so many different foods. I love having it in my kitchen.

We do a lot of peeling especially potatoes and it is the prep job that everyone tries to avoid. This peeler works beautifully, has such a smooth glide and has made this prep task a little easier. I do not get as many grumbles from the prep cooks anymore.

This peeler has held up great to the beatigns we give it. We use it all the time for potatoes! Its easy to clean and has stayed sharp for alot longer than my other ones.

    from BG's Posted on

The "Y" peeler is very easy to use. Its handle doesn't tire out my wrist like some peeler handles do. Webstaurantstore.com has it at a great price too.

The "Y" peeler makes peeling quick and effortless! My husband, (and helper) who is disabled, prefers this to any other peeler in my kitchen. My only wish is that it didn't have the serrated edges.

from A B Catering Posted on

If this peeler ever fails me I will buy it again and again. My cooks that have worked in the restaurant industry for a long time all say it is one of the best that they have used. Ours gets heavy use peeling potatoes everyday at our restaurant.
