These mesquite wood chunks have been hand-selected, graded, and fully seasoned to ensure you get the most flavorful product possible with an even, consistent burn. Mesquite wood is known for it's high heat and these mesquite chunks live up to that reputation. These mesquite chunks light quickly and easily to make sure that you don't have to waste time struggling to get your outdoor grill lit. Once the grill is lit, these mesquite chunks produce a pleasing smoky aroma that is sure to stimulate the appetites of your patrons.
Gas and Electric Grills: Soak 6-8 mesquite chunks in water for 2 hours. Wrap the chunks in foil and puncture to allow for ventilation. Place next to the burner for optimal performance.
Remove cooking grid. Stack charcoal in pyramid and light. When charcoal is ashed over, spread chunks evenly over hot coals. Chips will begin to smoke immediately. Replace cooking grid and start grilling.
Grilling Without Charcoal:
Remove cooking grid. Arrange chunks in a pyramid shape pile. Soak with lighter fluid and wait one minute. With grill vents open and the top open or removed, light the pile and let it burn for 15 to 20 minutes until all chunks are burning. Spread as desired, replace cooking grid, and close lid to smother flames. Once flames are smothered, add food and adjust temperature by opening or closing vents. If you keep the grill lid closed, the smoky flavor is increased.

I purchased the mesquite wood chunks in the 360 cu. in. bag. Mesquite wood chunks are the best way to get a long last burn in the cooker and to infuse great taste into meats.

These wood chunks are a little bigger than some other products, but perfect for a propane smoker. I like to soak about half of them in water.
