These are great to have if you don't have a sprice grinder. Or if you don't want to use a spice grinder and only need to process whole spices every once and a while.

the size of tis mortar and perstil is ideal for culinary instructers that are often on the move . easy to transport in a tool chest or box.

I am a pharmacy student involved in a pharmacy fraternity and I have used Webstaurant for a second year now to order multiple mortars and pestles for our graduating members. These mortars and pestles each have a unique marble grain and make a very memorable gift. We even have the names of recipient engraved on the lip and they are lovely. I also like how these items are shipped. Each mortar and pestle comes in an individual box, and then they are further padded in a larger box. I have never worried about these arriving damaged. Plus I have always had my shipment within less than five business days. As a customer I have been very pleased.

Yes, it grinds the pepper seeds and does it well. It also turns dehydrated whole corn kernels into fresh-ground cornmeal and dehydrated orange peels into orange powder for homemade herbal tea. And it looks so pretty on the counter!

i love this set i use it all the time good for grinding and rolling oats and grinding coffee beans red peppers and dry spices

Works very well. I have used it to grind up dried hot peppers from my garden. You can really make a fine powder with it. This is really a heavy duty well made item. I was worried it might be fragile but it is very solid. The bowl is 4 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep.
