The battery backup ensures that your exits remain visible even during a power outage, plus with its 8" tall lettering this exit sign is approved by the City of New York.

The 4.8V NiCad battery backup is designed for a long, maintenance-free lifespan. It features an internal solid-state transfer switch that automatically connects the internal battery to the LED lights in case the power goes out. It can provide a minimum of 90 minutes of illumination in case of emergency. After the battery is used, the automatic two-rate charger initiates the charging process to ensure the battery is fully recharged within 24 hours.

As a double face sign, this unit features the word "EXIT" on both the front and back so that it can be installed for visibility from multiple angles. The double face design utilizes a mylar background panel. Each exit sign features a sleek, compact, low-profile design with a neutral finish that fits well in most venues. Self-adhering chevron applique indicators let you choose which direction the sign should point. The exit sign comes with the indicators and a guide template so you can ensure that the sign indicates the proper direction. The housing is made of durable, premium grade aluminum and the trim assembly can be easily detached from below, providing accessibility for service or maintenance. This exit sign comes with bar hangers and is compatible with drywall or drop ceiling mounting applications.

The unit's overall input wattage is 3.6W for a 120V electrical connection or 4W fora 277V electrical connection.
