This product consists of 100% white corn that's ground into a consistent meal and pre-cooked for convenience. For balanced nutrition, this corn meal is enriched with niacin, iron, riboflavin, thiamin, and folic acid, making it easy to help your customers get their daily dose of vitamins and minerals. When simply mixed with water, this corn meal creates a soft and fluffy corn dough that's ideal for preparing a wide variety of Latin treats. It's an essential ingredient for making arepas, but can also be used to make cornbread, corn pancakes, empanadas, tortillas, polenta, corn chips, and other popular dishes!

To make classic, crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside arepas, begin by adding 2.5 cups of water to a large bowl and slowly pouring in 2 cups of pre-cooked white corn meal and 1 teaspoon of salt. Knead the ingredients together until a smooth dough forms, then allow it to rest for 3 minutes. After it has rested, separate the dough into 10 portions; roll each piece of dough into a ball, then flatten it into a disc approximately 3 1/2" in diameter. Place the arepas into an oiled pan over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until a golden-brown color is achieved. Serve your fresh arepas hot with your desired fillings!
