Foxs U-Bet Brooklyn Egg Cream Drink

Try making a delicious Brooklyn Egg Cream using Fox's U-Bet Syrups!

Hi I’m Steve Ziegler, Product Expert at the WEBstaurantstore. Having spent some time in Brooklyn in my younger days, I came to appreciate a local specialty, the Brooklyn Egg Cream. It just so happens that our house brand of chocolate syrup is Fox’s U-bet syrup, which is the only one that you want to use if you are making a real egg cream. So today, I thought I’d take a break from my usual slicing, chopping, and sharpening, and just have some fun and make some real New York Egg Creams. To make an Egg Cream, you’ll need a few things first, and, of course, the first ingredient is Fox’s U-bet Chocolate Syrup—which we carry in the squeeze bottles or the much more righteous gallon size here, as well. Then you’ll need seltzer water, which you can buy in the store, or, if you want to make an egg cream the right way—we carry these soda siphons on the site along with these cartridges. And you can pick them up here at the WEBStaurantstore. Then you’ll need ice cold whole milk. You must use whole milk. And if you’re worried about your diet, that’s alright, because the Fox’s U-bet Chocolate syrup is fat free. But the whole milk’s going to make the foamy head stand up a little bit better for you. Then you’ll need some soda glasses. I am using these cola glasses here. If you want to find our soda glasses on the site, just look up “soda glass” and you’ll find 10 different soda glasses of all different shapes and sizes. And finally, you’ll need some iced teaspoons, and you’ll want these because they have the long handle that will allow you to get down and mix your chocolate up. From the history of an egg cream to how to make one, everything is a controversy. I’m going to show you how I make an egg cream and you can choose your best way of doing it. One thing I can recommend for everybody: use a chilled glass and cold milk. I’m going to go ahead, and put just a couple inches of milk in there. Then I am going to use my seltzer water next, and spray that in there until I get a nice head on top, just straight down in. Then I am going to take my chocolate and just run it down the side so I don’t break up the head. I am going to put ¾” in the bottom there. I am going to mix this up and you’ll see I have a nice chocolate base, and a beautiful white creamy head. This might bother traditionalists, but U-bet makes many different flavors of syrup—we have the traditional chocolate, the sugar free chocolate, coffee, malt, and even vanilla. And vanilla is extremely popular! Here, I’ll make an egg cream with this. Because this won’t change the color of the head, I am going to put the syrup in here first. I am going to go ahead and put the milk on top, and then put my seltzer water in there. And there you have a beautiful vanilla egg cream! One more very important thing: An egg cream is not meant to sit around, or it will go flat--so once you make it—enjoy it! This is a good version of a chocolate free syrup. Too many companies use splenda, of which I am not a fan due to personal taste. This one has sucralose.

Oh My Staple in the house. My Husband had to go Sugar Free it was not easy. But he Love Love Loves this It reminds him of syrup when he was a Kid.

Fox's U-Bet sugar free chocolate syrup is delicious and great quality without all the added sugar! It is strong so be careful with that but overall it's a good product.

A bit on the stronger side, so I would recommend using less than normal if used to most other brands. There is a slight aftertaste that I didn't care for but this is pretty typical for sugar free chocolate syrups. Overall, i'd have to say this stuff is pretty good though and you cannot beat the price for a sugar free chocolate syrup!!!

Sugar free is a great thing to have for those customers who are diabetic. We make chocolate milkshakes and chocolate chip pancakes. We also use this as a cheesecake topping.

Not great, but not the worst thing I have tasted. A little goes a long way. It also leaves a strange aftertaste that is very unpleasant. I have tried it in milk and on ice cream and it still doesn't mask the taste. Won't buy again unless they change the recipe.

Its pretty good. I got it because I'm diabetic, but you have to see how your body and meter reacts to it. Could be a little strong. You be the judge!!

We can't speak to everyone's tastes, but we liked it. A nice, chocolate sugar free syrup for topping ice cream, or drizzled on cake - good.

Don't believe a word of the 5-star reviews you see hear. They are full of it. I am a recently diagnosed diabetic. Not wanting to give up my love for egg creams I looked for a sugar-free version of the best chocolate syrup made for egg creams -- Fox's U-Bet. The regular version is the syrup of the gods. Not so this rancid-tasting industrial brew. Flat-out, it tastes horrible. Nowhere close to the real thing. When I made an egg cream with it, it did not blend with the milk like normal syrup, and when I added seltzer water it did not properly foam or even look like a normal egg cream. When I tasted it, I had to spit it out. It was that bad. I spent money to get two bottles, which are unusable. I've noticed a lot of smokers or former smokers do not seem to have keen tastebuds when it comes to sugar. Nearly every diet soda fanatic I've known fits into this category. Maybe that's the case here, I don't know. But as a lifelong non-smoker I was plenty upset when I tasted this terrible concoction. I can't believe Fox's U-Bet stands behind this swill.

Just as good as the big name brand no sugar chocolate sauce we were using previously, but at a significantly better cost! Webstaurantstore.com has helped us gain considerable margins!!!

It can be hard to carry all your stuff in a sugar free option but in this day and time you got to. Love the price of this syrup.

Sugar free chocolate syrup. Just as tasty as the "name brand." Great for beverages, desserts, waffles, pancakes, and can be used as a flavoring. U-Bet, we will order again.

perfect for diabetics or anyone watching their sugar or carb intake - this syrup is VERY chocolately and rich so you only need to use a very small amount to get a big taste.

I bought the Fox's U-Bet Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup for a diabetic friend. She loves the taste. We would highly recommend the product to anyone looking for a sugar alternative.

A very tasty sugar free chocolate syrup. My mother is diabetic and this allows her to have chocolate sundaes with the rest of us and be able to enjoy it.

I orderd this item to sample the quality of the chocolate. I have not yet had a chance to work with this ingredient, however the product looks and tastes acceptable.

This is the best sugar free 0 calorie chocolate syrup around. It tastes the just like regular chocolate syrup. There is none like it. I was so pleased to be able to order it from webresturant at such a great price.

fox's u-bet sugar free syrup is one of the most awesome products i have bought in a long time. other than it makes a great sugar free egg cream i drizzle it over my favorite ice cream and after it sits for a few mins on the ice cream it turns into magic shell. it hardens and gets crispy. tastes really good can't eat ice cream without it anymore.

I love this product because it does not have sorbitol or malitol in it as do other sugar-free syrups which upset my stomach. Also the taste is delicious- no after taste. Wish I could purchase it at a store close to me.
