An open doorway is an open invitation for insects, smoke, fumes, and uncomfortable temperatures to enter your building - keep them outside with this Curtron MCS-48-BK Microshield black air barrier! This unit creates a smooth, gapless air pattern across the width of your door, which prevents outside environmental factors from penetrating into your facility while reducing heat and AC loss through the doorway by up to 90%. This near-perfect seal makes it much more effective and energy-efficient than heated air curtains, which create a less effective seal and use heat (and more power) to compensate for this.

It achieves this superior seal with a full-length articulating discharge nozzle design, 4 forward-curved blower fans, and 2 dual-speed 1/5 hp direct-drive motors that together generate an air velocity of 3150 fpm on high and 2500 fpm on low. Plus, this unit comes with a magnetic door switch to prevent the fan from running continuously. One half of the switch is placed on your door, while the other half is wired to your air curtain, allowing the fan to automatically turn on and off as needed.

This 48" air barrier is designed to be wall-mounted over most retail doorways up to 7' high and it features a black finish with decorative intake grills and side panels that blend effortlessly into a wide range of interiors. A manual or wireless remote control lets you turn the unit on or off from whichever location is most convenient for you, and since the housing is made from durable steel, you can be sure that it will look great and stand up to hard use in even the most demanding applications.

It requires a 120V electrical connection and comes with a cord and plug for simple installation. Performance is dependent on a balanced building air pressure.
