No, this thermometer is not intended to be used for medical purposes and will not accurately report body temperatures.

The distance to target ratio (DTR or "distance to spot ratio") shows the diameter of the circle of the surface area being measured. It has an infrared temperature range of -76 to 932 degrees Fahrenheit or -60 to 500 degrees Celsius with an accuracy of +/- 4 degrees Fahrenheit. Its 12:1 distance to spot ratio means that it doesn't need to come in contact with the surface itself, making your establishment even more hygienic. With a 0.95 adjustable emissivity rate and a 0.1 degree Fahrenheit resolution, this thermometer will deliver superior accuracy every time.

This gun-style thermometer is ergonomically shaped to fit comfortably in the user's hand. Equipped with single-spot laser sighting, it is also easy to use. Simply point and pull the trigger to get an accurate temperature reading. It features an easy-to-read backlit LCD display along with min / max, hold, and lock settings for added versatility. You can toggle back and forth between Fahrenheit and Celsius using the F/C button. Plus, the included AAA batteries provide up to 180 hours of use. For infrared readings, the automatic shut-off feature is enabled after 60 seconds of inactivity, helping to conserve battery power.

For internal temperature readings, you can attach any Type-K probe (sold separately) to the thermocouple jack. The thermocouple jack has a temperature range of -83 to 1,999 degrees Fahrenheit or -64 to 1,400 degrees Celsius with an accuracy of +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit. This thermometer comes complete with a soft carrying case to keep it protected when not in use.
