Behind the Scenes: Meet Logistics Team Leader Marla Stauffer

Have you ever wondered what happens AFTER you place your order with After all of the decision making is done, the credit card information is entered, the billing and shipping addresses are verified, and you finally finalize your order?

Meet our Logistics Team Leader, Marla Stauffer!

What is . . . Logistics?

Logistics handles a variety of different tasks and has its hands in a little bit of everything. Our team communicates with customers regarding orders that are out of stock or items that we do not carry in our warehouse. We work with a variety of sources to find the best and fastest way to physically get our items to the customer. We also handle of lot of reporting to make sure that our records stay up to date.

So you do what exactly?

I help organize our team as well as communicate with customers to provide the best service to everyone. I’ve been able to see the department grow tremendously in the past two years!

At the end of the day, what do you find most rewarding about your job?

I love when we can bring together different departments and/or the manufacturer to help get customers what they need in time for their important event or find a unique solution for their problem. It’s fun when all these different divisions can work together to make it happen for the customer.

Do you have a favorite feature?

The buying guides are a great way to find out more information about the differences between different brands and similar items. They can help point you in the right direction or make you aware of things you may not have thought of originally.

What was your favorite childhood snack?

I loved fruit roll-ups, but we were never allowed to have them because they were so bad for our teeth.

Cats or dogs?

Both! I like the independence of a cat, but the love of a dog.

Do you have a favorite sports team?

I don’t have a favorite team, but I would have to say that I enjoy watching soccer and tennis the most.

What is the grossest thing you’ve ever eaten?

A friend in school ate salt and vinegar chips with mayo and a pickle on top every day. He told me I couldn’t knock it until I tried it, so I did. It was horrible!

Marla has been a member of The WEBStaurant Store team since 2008. Outside of her job, she enjoys sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and spending time with friends and family.
