Customer questions about this product
- How can I properly care for cast iron surfaces?
- In order to prevent unwanted build-up of oils, grease, and food, surfaces should be cleaned after use while still slightly warm. Harsh chemicals or scouring pads should not be used—only hot water and a cloth or sponge are needed. If some areas require extra cleaning, a mild scouring pad can be used. Please refer to our Pan Seasoning Guide for further information on properly cleaning and seasoning cast iron surfaces.
- Does this cast iron skillet come ready to use?
- This cast iron skillet has a protective bee's wax coating which should be removed before the skillet is used. This is done by exposing the skillet to an open flame until the bee's wax coating is burned off.

Cast iron skillets have several advantages over other types of cookware. First, cast iron is an ideal heat conductor. Because it heats evenly and consistently with no "hot spots," foods cook better with less chance of scorching.
Additionally, cast iron cookware will also last almost indefinitely with proper care. When seasoned properly, foods will not stick! You can cook healthier because you don't have to use lots of butter or cooking spray. Finally, no specialized utensils are required: cast iron cookware can go from stovetop to oven to table with nothing but potholders!

I love this cast iron pan, I use it not only to cook but to serve hot sizzling food like fajita chicken and steak with pepper onions. Has a graT look to it that lasts long time. Very heavy but will not break on you anytime soon if maintained properly. I use salt and oil mostly to clean so it doesn't rust.

Our customers are shocked and in awe when we send out one of our dishes in this cast iron skillet. We put our roasted chicken dish. Customers always ask where we get them! It is definitely a "Wow" element.

I ordered the 12 inch and this 15 inch skillet. The 12 inch one is in the process of getting used and a nice seasoning. This one, unfortunately, once I removed the coating showed two spots where there was evidently a void in the cast iron. It was then filled with some other metal and a grinder was used to smooth it. I can't see that the filler metal was iron, but something with a lower melting point. I'm not going to use this skillet.

This skillet is really a life saver. I hate having to use 2 small/medium skillets to cook 1 batch of food. This is heavy duty and worth the money. Lots of leftovers!

These are very heavy but the most important thing is that they sear and cook very evenly. Great for searing meats and for skillet vegetables.

I love this skillet! It's VERY heavy and cooks evenly. This is the only skillet I use to cook steaks in now! Mmmm mmm mmm! This is the best purchase I've made in a long time!!!

I was amazed at the price of this when we ordered it. But it has done its job admirably. You just have to care for it properly like any other cast iron skillet.

I love having a skillet big enough to cook dinner for my large family!
