We like these larger tongs for baked goods, large cuts of meat and big helpings of salad. The price for them is great. They are durable and easy to clean.

Simple tools are often the best, and these are no exception. There are no parts to break, rust or fall off. They go through the dishwasher like a dream. If the grip is too wide/firm, they can be intentionally bent a little at the handle end to correct that problem. This size is great for ears of corn, potatoes, large pieces of meat and deep pots.

The world is divided into two types of people; those who will plunge their hands into the dish to get the biggest piece of food or ice, and those who cannot eat the food or use the ice after witnessing this. Put a set or two of these sturdy right-sized tongs in the dish and the Plungers will use them because then they can get the biggest piece out easily! and the Germ Theory Adherents will use them because, ahem, it keeps their fingers out of the dish. Also handy for the cook who needs to pick things up and tear soft food apart. Irresistible price, too.

This is a long story, so please bear with me. In the 1960-70 I was a flight attendant with Pan Am, and we had these as part of our galley equipment that we pursers used to lug around. This was in the days when we cooked all meals in large pans, dished up each plate (in economy we are talking 160 or more meals) and in first class we cooked everything to order. These tongs were THE best equipment we had. When I left, I ended up with a couple of these in my own kitchen (don't ask) and since then (we are talking 35 years), I have tried to find them. I gave one pair to my sister in Denmark. They were just here in Colorado, and bemoaned that they also couldn't find any, but today I just received an e-mail from my brother-in-law with a link to your website, and immediately ordered four. I am sure I will order more, and I will definitely let my local houseware/food store know where to find them. I have been harassing them since I moved to Colorado in 1993.

These twelve inch pom tongs are perfect for serving from my steam table. They are very sturdy and thick. The longer the tongs are the thicker they are made.

Nice tongs, hold up well with daily use, clean up well. After a couple hundred uses they still have a ton of spring left in them.
